Competing against colleagues to get one of the few decent jobs left. Still some chance I'll get made redundant, if not that it'll be more days for less money. Either change will put the final nail in the coffin of me finding my own place to rent in the near term. My Mum said I could move back into the family home, but after I left they made use of the space and I don't feel comfortable causing people to have to change bedrooms back. There wasn't really space for us all before.

I had a dream that I still had Otterbutt to cuddle. ._. Now I'm depressed because I haven't talked to him in two months.

Well what happens when you talk to him? It might just be that he's the kind to be uncomfortable initiating a conversation.
I'm just citing him on the post to basically say that I don't generally murder people who talk to me. I'm more annoyed about other people who don't talk to me.
Oh, it's people in general. In that case, I know your pain. I just try to be super-aggressive with initiating interactions with people and eventually they start to do it back. Then again I've also made some people want to never talk to me again because I came off too aggressive so vov

Otterbutt
Whut? I mean, I call my SO 'mushroom heater' on occasion, but 'Otterbutt'? There's gotta be a story here.

"Mushroom heater"??!??

If you'll excuse me, I'll be over here laughing my ass off, supergluing it back on, then laughing so hard it falls off again anyways.

EDIT: I'm assuming Descan's squeeze had a hairy butt.

In the sense of 'radiant heater', not in the sense that 'she heats mushrooms'... That pun doesn't even work in German, it's 'Heizpilz' and 'Pilzheizer' respectively. (The female form would be 'Pilzheizerin', which is just way too cumbersome for a nickname.)

He fell through the floor during a run to his designated coords. Jumped off a little ledge, onto some stairs, right through the floor.

That's nothing, really. I once played an FPS where a certain map, a war-torn city square, had a random bottomless pit in the middle of the street. Furthermore, the map had other, similar holes that went into sneaky tunnels to other holes that didn't kill you. And the map was old and updated multiple times, so it wasn't even accidental, but a deliberate design choice.

Did that game have Permadeath? Followed by the horrific realization that AUTOSAVE IS NOT ON.

Logically permadeath and autosave are not really compatible

Soldier dies. They are gone. Foreber. This is permadeath.

I mean the mechanic itself-I didn't have Ironman on, I'm a wimp.
