It may sound silly to say, but even a complete stranger saying it's okay to cry makes me feel a lot better about it.
A stranger's just a friend you haven't met~!
A friend's just a stranger whom you know better than you know other strangers~!

They broke up. I took his side.
I said some things, salvaged his ego.
She said some things, got him thinking.
He caved. They're living together now. With me.

She... Does not like me anymore.

He advised me next time to not take sides.

(I don't think she's good for him, or great as a person. I damn well can't say that now.)

Or you know a murderer
Let's merge the two.

A friend is just a stranger who isn't an axe murderer~

Also, if you are posting to say your post is worthless, why not just post the sad.

It just seems badly timed when people have worse sads.
Don't want to be the person that walks in like theirs are worse than the person talking.

It's a forum, it's not like you're interrupting anyone. Beyond the "while you were typing a new reply has been posted" message. Everyone else can still post about their own problems.

Like so:
What is this button and why is pressing it not desirable?
I've been offered extensions on all of the assignments I missed due to incompetence depression etc. The work itself is easy - I could do it standing on my head with my eyes closed, if you will. Which makes it seem straightforward. I do those, pass the semester, get my certificate, decide later if I want to push on to a diploma/degree, and I don't end up with a few thousand wasted dollars.

Of course, I don't want to do it. I can't shake the somewhat oppressive feeling that taking up the extensions is a terrible idea and I shouldn't do it. There's no way to rationalise this, other than the idea that I'm scared of screwing up again. Which doesn't really make sense either (although that's probably what's going to happen).

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

If you really think that your problems are so unimportant(which still doesn't really make sense to think, but whatever) then there's no reason to post anything at all. At best your post will get ignored and more likely you'll get people asking what's the matter and you'll end up shifting the junction anyway.

I say go for it! You can do it man! Save yourself, and you shall feel better for it! If you don't you probably will kick yourself for missing the opportunity later.

Do it. Get certificate. Improve prospects of a job. Don't waste time and money.

You said it's easy, and you obviously aren't an idiot. If you don't do it, you will look back with regret and think of the path your life could have taken had you accepted those extensions. Really, do it. A couple days/weeks of wishing you weren't doing it, and then it is done and you reap the benefits.

Oh, and I don't hunt you down and kill you for being such an eejit and refusing a Get Out of Jail Free card  :P
