Eh, we've had discussions on the appropriate usage of humour - most agree anything goes, depending on some degree of context - without it ever becoming locked. At least, not to my knowledge.

By opinions I meant the "Suicide shouldn't be joked about" and "Well I think it's perfectly fine"

Not other opinions like"I feel this way I feel that way" explaining your sad and saying how you feel on your sad

And we have gotten in derail/lock arguments over this crap
Please do not misrepresent my viewpoint.

Anyway, if things had started becoming heated, it's fine. There are a few things - mainly to do with feminism and gender rights - that almost always ignite, but this is not to my knowledge one of them.

I'm not going to say why I'm bringing this up because it would be a breach in forum etiquette, but I really should not need to keep explaining to people that suicide isn't funny. It should not be made light of. I should not need to explain why this is. It should be common sense by now.
You know, for some people it's a coping mechanism. And I believe that a bit of dark humor here and there can help cut through all the melodrama surrounding the issue - it can be a great aid for serious, sensible discussion because it allows us to gain some distance.

Joking about it stops me from contemplating it, so jokes are a plus in my opinion.

Anyway, my sads for today: I have missed enough assignments/tests so far that I've completely buggered any chance of passing this semester. I will most likely be un-enrolling in the near future. No point continuing at university when all it's doing is reminding me that I can't muster enough motivation to do stuff that is (academically) very easy.
Three cheers for wasted financial investment.

Please don't shitpost, it lowers the quality of discourse
Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Ignorance constantly amazes me. Out of my whole class of very tech savvy people not one person had heard of a 'strawman argument' when the lecturer mentioned it. Bay12 is basically an oasis of intellectual curiosity compared to my degree course.

I know how you feel.

Reminds me of the time I discovered I was the only person in my History course who knew what a fjord was.

And why so much of the internet is pining for them.
I just learned but 3 years ago no amount of google got me a good answer.

More rage over suspected police brutality led to a riot, this time in Baltimore. I've been out of the loop on this one but apparently this started happening on Saturday and has continued fairly continuously since then. It seems to have rapidly devolved into nothing but chaos after the first night, but that's what Fox News is saying (the only TV news station that comes in clearly here) between talking about how the Crips, Bloods, and Nation of Islam are declaring war on the police and how Urist McMayor(D) is being cowardly so I'm taking that with a grain of salt.
