Funny how a fast food job can be too good to be true. Now I may very well be fired because my hands are too sensitive to the cleaning chemicals, specifically the sanitizer. After a quick search, this seems to be a very common problem.

And now I am searching for another job before I lose this one. Though the job market doesn't look like it will improve within any time frame that will help me, still, the thought of having one job for so long makes me want to kill myself. Even if I get something stable and well paying, it's probably gonna end up oppressively stale before long.
I relate all too well. Best of luck with the hunt.

It's stories like these that make me feel depressed at the aspect of job hunting and working in general.

this

:<

Making the transition to adulthood is NOT easy when all that's promised to you is 40 years of working for various demanding superiors (or poverty and life in the gutter, if working ain't your thing). I'm trying SO HARD to be optimistic about all this, but it ain't easy when even the interesting things in your life (that CAN bring an income) will probably be ruined for you by doing it 6-8 hours per day. Frankly, i'm not sure that there's anything that wouldn't, as Lagslayer puts it, get oppressively stale for me before long, at least not in terms of paying jobs. And that, my dear internet peoplefriends, is why i currently think that growing up sucks. :I

In other news, my mom says that she's kind of worried about my lack of social activities, and well... She's not wrong to be so. I am an introvert, but that's not really an excuse to be isolating myself in this manner. But in my own defense, most of my buds at uni seem to be mostly about drinking and talking, and while i don't mind talking, drinking isn't my deal. On top of that, i find it very difficult to let people get closer than "bud". I'm uncomfortable about inviting people home, and i'm a bit less uncomfortable about going to their places. It's just... I'm a terrible host, a rather unexciting guest, and have a very hard time determining whether our interests line up. I'm ALSO afraid of actively seeking contact with others, so the notion of calling someone and being like "YO LET'S HANG OUT" makes me uncomfortable. I wouldn't know how to hang out, and i'd take it disproportionately hard if they said no, even though it's probably not meant like that at all. So yeah, i probably have some social anxiety going on. :I

I'm not going to say why I'm bringing this up because it would be a breach in forum etiquette, but I really should not need to keep explaining to people that suicide isn't funny. It should not be made light of. I should not need to explain why this is. It should be common sense by now.

People should be careful who they make suicide jokes to, but no, I disagree that it can never be joked about. With humour - and especially dark humour - nothing is sacred, and rightfully so.

Let us please not derail and destroy this thread with opinions

Since this is a serious emotion thread I agree that suicide shouldn't be jokes about here but dark humor belongs in a different thread

But please don't get this thread locked because of another argument

This thread is based a great deal upon the back of opinion. "It is my opinion I am sad because." "It is my opinion that you should do this to fix that..."

Of course, technically the use of opinion here was not the specified intent of this thread, but I think the emotion threads are one big derail - such a big derail, in fact, that the derail itself becomes the rail on which the thread moves. Of course, we shouldn't risk the thread with petty arguments, but I'd like to think that people here are more mature than to get into such a foolish argument without a lot of provocation.

I thought my disagreement was pretty polite. You'd have to try to take offence.

But then if we can't state our opinion on what people say, then it even more so becomes what people complain about - when people don't get the sympathetic responses they want and feel worse.

By opinions I meant the "Suicide shouldn't be joked about" and "Well I think it's perfectly fine"

Not other opinions like"I feel this way I feel that way" explaining your sad and saying how you feel on your sad

And we have gotten in derail/lock arguments over this crap
