Yeknow, suddenly this whole thing seems worse.
Oh man, that tweet. It made me so angry seeing the public outcry the first time. Stupid people getting worked up over a joke.
Now I'm angry again. Great. So far today I'd managed to avoid thinking about how fucking retarded society is. ::)

The ol' depression is coming back with a vengeance. I spent half the day hating everything around me and the other half hating myself. Everything from thoughts of suicide and death (no, not planning anything) to all the ways I've failed myself and others.

April has not been a good month  :-\

Well, I had to go pick up my little brother from a church dance...
When I walked into the building everyone started talking quieter/stopped talking. People grimaced, glared, turned away... A few people just walked out of the building.

I had to walk in to get my brother, and I just walked through everyone because everyone backed away as I walked near... No one made eye contact. When I walked out I saw quite a few people, a few once friends, turn to keep their backs to me as I walked past.

So yeah, that was fun.

I guess people have decided to be really efficient about signalling whether or not their opinions matter.

Not that that helps. You deserve people who have some measure of concern for you.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Found my iPod. Everything is gone.

He didn't even wait more than a week to hit the reset button. Three years, all gone in a matter of one week. The guy gave away my cover, too. Because he didn't like it.

I honestly wish I could do more, tech. I really do.
Can you reclaim it via iCloud or something similar, at least?
Yeah, don't they have data reclamation programs for devices? I once saw a news article that mentioned that if you're selling your phone, you should load it up with random nonpersonal stuff before you wipe it so that it'd be hard to find your personal information via data recovery.

And if not, you can always get copies of the songs and games from pirates

Or pay the people who made them.

church?
Someone really needs to tack up a big sign saying "wonderful Christian love you have there", because that place is full of colossal dickwads.

My plans for this evening were wrecked by some poorly-advertised track works, which have thrown the city's train lines into disarray.

Ended up giving up and heading home, and now I'm stuck in a carriage with some worthless douchebag playing terrible music on his phone. I need to start carrying a knife for moments like these.

Reasons I'm looking forward to going home: not getting woken up by packs of drunk people at 3 AM outside my bedroom window.

My Sims 3 save with the immortal Terrence Conroy is bugged and his wife and son are unable to get out of the "teach baby to talk" animation no matter what I do.
The only thing that broke this was the social worker arriving and taking both kids away because I was "negligent" despite the fact I was unable to take care of the kid because it was stuck sitting on the floor for 3 days.

Didn't save, hopefully there is some way to fix this that keeps the childrens.

I need to start carrying a boomstick for moments like these.

Both options have merits. A boombox is rather clunky, however. And gun laws in this country would make acquiring a boomstick difficult.
Perhaps I should invest in one of those little plug-in speakers for my Ipod and just drown out the rage-inducing music with superior volume the next time it happens. But then that would probably end with me being attacked, annnnnd we're right back to needing to start carrying a knife. :-\

Edit: Oh, I forgot my actual new sad: I need a book to read.
I've read all of the books I have (in this house) apart from a couple of... well, rather boring-looking ones.
And other than that I only have my friend's large collection of cheesy old sci-fi novels, and those tend to be pretty dreadful. Bleh.

Maybe I'll just write my own book! Then I can read it as I go! :D
Or I guess I could buy some new books.
