I never watched past the first few minutes of The Hunger Games. The spastic camera direction annoyed me to no end; it seemed like every shot was either shaking, zooming or out-of-focus, and often all three at the same time. The movie kinda soured me to the idea of reading the books.

Having read through that particular trilogy, I'll admit that cameras are physical objects that appear in the story and are important thematically and plotwise, but I can also confirm that the books words are not some kind of engineered infohazard that forces your to visualize shakycam in your brain.

If it was, it would be classified as an SCP.

The books however were an atrociously written infohazard that provides headaches and pain due to sheer terrible character/plot/pseudomarymarysueness/idiotballwielding.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
