Am I too late to join in the "second semester sucks" bandwagon?

I'll jump on too, if it's already swingin' by. Money problems have not made things any better, that's for sure.

After running six miles, I discovered the following truths:

1. One of my shirts has shrunk enough to give me chafed nipples.

2. Running six miles gives my blood the consistency of saline. Please come back blood salt, all is forgiven.

Ex-wife texted me this morning to let me know her dad is being moved to hospice care tomorrow, has about a week left to live.
Also, it's his birthday. So we're having a tiny party in the hospital room in an hour or so.

I'm not sure how my psyche is going to handle the irony in wishing him a (last) happy birthday on the day that the doctors basically said "You're about to die."  :-[ :'(
I guess you just have to look at it like, 'he doesn't have much time left, let's make it as enjoyable as possible and give him a chance to be with his loved ones'. Still, yeah, that would be hard. :( Good on you for being with him, though. Try not to focus on how sad it is, but how lucky it is that the guy has a chance to be surrounded by family.

Re:Losing friends, I can relate.
Most of my old school friends (apart from my best[?] friend who I live with) are scattered across the country and even when I lived nearer to them my awkward attempts at re-be-friending them kinda fell flat. I didn't feel comfortable making that effort.
Come to think of it, that 'lack of effort' is probably one of my main obstacles to making close friends nowadays.
That compounded with the fact that I don't have many social outlets like work or on-campus study.

chafed nipples
no
Yes. Chafed, sore nipples, all over your eyes.

The goggles, they do nothing!...because they're actually a brassiere.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I just went "I guess I'll go check my Facebook, it's not like I have anything better to do..."
Then I remembered I've been abandoned or betrayed by all my "friends" so my Facebook is empty. Ah well...

I guess promises don't actually mean anything anymore. Why do I even keep getting close to anyone? It always just ends with me hurt and alone... :'(

:(. Good luck. I wish I could help.

That bay12 doesn't have a richi mahjong community.
Hey, speaking of Mahjong I got invited to gamble with a friend of mine so she can win drinking money! Yeah...
Same, but without ulterior motives.
I'm confident in my skills, but still hesitant because my luck is terrible. I can lose several times in a row without playing into a single hand.

Still, even if I lose my points tend to be rather high so the losses should be minimal.

Blurgh work. Yesterday, I get chewed out and guilt tripped for needing a specific schedule on certain days, then my backup is a no call no show, so I worked the rest of my shift alone. Got the store closed at a reasonable time. So stressed with all the legal bullshit that's going on combined with work stress that I hardly slept last night, and I'm opening the store this morning. Fucking close open shifts are the worst, especially since I'm already stressed about other things.

Why can't I just be independently wealthy and be done with it all? Right now I'm in the red due to legal fees and I don't know what to do.

Most postmasters are wonderful and have completely sensible regulations for how high your mailbox needs to be up off the ground.

Whole thing us nuts: https://www.usps.com/manage/mailboxes.htm
"Position your mailbox 41" to 45" above ground level."

@Truean: you could have simply turned your mailbox upside down. It's "base" would have been up on the postmaster's level, with the box itself on the correct level. The ruling is absurd, so why not give it an absurd solution?

Fakedit: consider if there's any chance it might have been an April Fool's prank.
