I have the thing with the lying and the marks dropping and the lack of memory and the manipulative tendencies. But I don't have so much of the trust issues (to a degree).
I think it's something else. Let me know if you figure out what it is, and I'll vice-versa you.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

It occurs to one that I might have a problem. I trust literally nobody. This is why I end up awake at midnight, coming up with plausible explanations for the welts on my arm. This is why I can manipulate people without them realizing anything. This is why I can lie without giving the slightest hint that I have a problem.

This is why my marks have dropped. This is why I don't remember things any more.

And I'm pretty sure I can't fix it.
I can't quite follow the link between trusting people and remembering things...?

I feel like I'm slowly going insane because of my apparent inability to open up even slightly. Not being able to talk to anyone about problems doesn't help solve them, and problems breed problems.

It doesn't help that I know I'm probably being at least somewhat melodramatic about it. Hopefully most of it passes.

So, all I'm trying to say is: I hope I wasn't a hurtful asshole to you, and I probably liked you a lot more than you knew at the time even if you really were a jerk.
You weren't. I definitely remember liking you. I just remember you and I had an argument over math one time and I obviously didn't know what I was talking about.

If you still can't remember and you really need to know, PM me and I'll tell you.

My dad died about 3 hours ago.

Just having to keep myself distracted right now, otherwise I just end up getting more upset.
Condolences. That's terrible. :(

I'm really sorry. I understand all too well what you're going through. My mom died about 10 years ago.

Here's something to help with the distracting. I've been through the whole dad-loss thing once that I can remember (and once I can't; my mom has had some shitty luck in choosing partners). Shit sucks - I might have more to say, but it sounds like you don't want to hear about it right now. So just let me know when, if ever, would be a good time.

Good luck.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
