Something something silencing any voice is wrong.
Even if that specific voice is wrong.

HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO BRING THIS UP

like good way or bad way

because I don't know whether you mean people should or shouldn't be silenced
No--he left Truean's text in.

Oh oops, and I quoted Bohandas->Tack->Truean.
Gonna fix that out of respect for Truean, who has been pretty nice about it.

Also @Vector:  It's downright crazy how common that nonsense still is.  I'm sorry you have to deal with it.

grrrrrrrrrrmnnnnnnnngh

hey mom, it's not cool to tell your queer kid that no one will ever want them and equate being trans or bi with some kind of infidelity. it's not cool at all.
It's really not cool. It's also patently absurd. Rest assured - there will be a great deal of wrathful fist-shaking in the general direction of California this night.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

If Truean is still on, I suppose she can answer this, or else one of you who she's told, but... if it's public knowledge of why she doesn't want to be quoted, why doesn't she?  It's not going to prevent what she says from showing up in a search of the forum as far as I know...

It allows her to immediately and permanently erase anything she says. If she's quoted, she can't do that.

Regardless of the reason, it's generally polite to go with someones wishes, especially when it's nearly zero effort on your part. (Select all -> delete -> done)

For what it's worth, she wants to have control over what is attributed to her username, which is easier if she has total control over the editing of her words. If it's quoted in other peoples posts, she loses that control over those words.

Using a script or something?

Erasing it all manually would take awful long.
