Monopoly is pretty good if you can get people to play by the actual rules. The main reason it's often so dull is because people ignore so many of them.

Monopoly becomes fun when you put REAL MONEY ON IT.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

What happens to money lost to community chest/chance cards? Also the money that someone may get from them.

Hm.  Each player starts with 1500 monopoly-bux.  This idea's pretty crazy, but $15.00 isn't a particularly bad buy-in.

To create the bank pool, every player would need to bring an extra... $5?  $10 maybe?  After the game, any money left in the bank would be split evenly among all players.  Might be less than the original amount, but I bet it's more.  The bank probably grows over a typical game due to random events and construction costs.  The bank isn't supposed to run out of money, and a growing bank hastens the end of the game.

So, guesstimating, each player could arrive with $20 and each loser would leave with $5-10.  Not too bad.

You could probably even allow players to cash out at any time, taking their current cash and their fraction from the bank.  Mortgaging only grants a portion of the original value, after all, so they'd have to be substantially ahead in order to even get their original share back.

Also this might be the only way to make Monopoly even more poisonous to friendships and happiness
Just play drunk monopoly instead.

I think my dorm once had a monopoly-cum-money event. I'll ask around to find out the exact rules they used.

I'm thankful for our internet connection however its efficiency has been really...annoying these past months. Especially nowadays where it takes minutes to load pages. Annoyingly, browser and PC crashes = lost data. Considering this happened lately and the slow rate of load-to-post here...ugh.
So many things to post. So many things to send. If I had a better connection I could do a ton more than what I'm doing now and gah  :-\

I too would like to know the secret to ejaculating money. We would all be rich in a matter of hours!

Anyway hyperinflation would fuck everything. There is no way the economy would be able to keep up with that level of money being created. Constantly. No way to limit it other than mass killings.

If the money is... viable, it would solve that last issue.

Well, everyone would have a ton of money, and then money would be worthless.
Problem solved.
Then we find a new form of currency.
