Funny you should say that, I was considering watching the commercials and doing my damnedest to ignore the game :P

Probably just gonna shut myself in my room instead though.

+1

One of my new friends and I will probably be playing board games the whole time
Or pool on the new pool table

Also, a kid with interest in physics can have so much fun with a pool table as I've discovered

I can never understand why people are so fascinated with watching people jump about on a field.

It's much more fascinating to figure out what happens when you strike pool balls at different angles
And groups of pool balls at different angles

I like watching the best athletes be athletic. Equate it to watching your favorite YouTube personality playing a game or a pitched StarCraft battle or MtG game.

Sad: it's snowing so hard that they're plowing my work parking lot with heavy construction equipment. And failing to keep up.

I can never understand why people are so fascinated with watching pixels glow on a screen.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I like the superbowl because my family always makes chili for it.

That's about it, really. Chili's the best.

My dad also makes chilli for it
My mom also made Kalua pork

So I guess the food will be good

Meh, I've never really been able to feel interested in competitive gamer either, and I tend to view LPs for the commentary and story most of the time. The only time I've ever really felt interest in that sort of thing was the 4Chan cup since I actually have groups I can root for in those and that's played by in game AIs.

Your American nonsense isn't even real football. It's... hand-egg, or some crap.

The Brits named it Soccer, so that's the name you hooligans get. We'll take Football.

Soccer was originally a slang abbreviation for Association Football. The 'soc from association. So it was football to start with. but that was the name the upper class schools kids used, the aristocrats that went to those elite schools. That fits with the names of games that class used: ruggers for rugby, and rounders, which is the game baseball was copied from, with a few rule changes.

To the regular middle and working class in England, it was always just called Football, which is why "soccer" never caught on, using the word would mean you're talking like a toff.
