Why are everyone's parents complete jerks?

S'not that, its just that the people with horrible parents are the ones who post about them the most, because they do post-worthy horrible things. Also parents are people too, which means that they're about as likely to be assholes as anyone else.

Mine aren't. But there do seem to be far too many jerks, indeed. People aren't going to post about the nice things their parents do for them in the sad thread, though.

Speaking of which my mother doesn't want me talking to one of my old friends at all, thinks he's a bad influence on me
I'm almost an adult, I can choose my own friends!
Besides he's already told me I'm one of his few friends that keep him from doing absolutely stupid things.
I don't know why she doesn't think I can be a good influence on him.
Also she got a bit mad at the music my girlfriend was playing while she was over and now my girlfriend is sad because my mom got mad and my mom is mad at me for letting that music play in the house, like I had control over it.
My mother is overbearing and over expecting of what I can do, and such a freaking hypocrite sometimes it's not even funny

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned my mother in the Happy thread before. She doesn't cause me nearly as many Sads/Rages these days... then again, that's probably because I don't live with her.

Anyway, current Sad: straight scotch is quite unpleasant on a stinking hot day. Well, even less pleasant than usual.

Anyway, my parents are mostly non-arseholey. Assuming, of course, you remember they were born in the middle of last century and stick to all the misinformation and prejudices of that time like a pair of mules.

Alot of times I try to imagine what it would be like to have a girlfriend or whatever, and the only thing I can really imagine is a woman that is extremely critical and judgmental of me and everything I do; that is just disgusted with me and chimes in with cutting words no matter what I'm doing. It makes my stomach turn to be this badly ostracized by an imaginary girlfriend, and at the same time being lonely.
