Sigh. I worry about us some times.
Even though we report and ban them, we love the kitchenbots and find them amusing. We also did that with the **xus incident.
I wonder what would happen if someone made a forum specifically to observe spambots, what would happen?
Four subforums: Observation Deck, where only level 3 forum users (confirmed humans), admins, and mods can post; General Discussion, which is open to level 1 users (spambots and new humans), level 2 users (suspected humans), and of course anyone that can use the Observation Deck; the Cesspit, where level 2 and 3 users cannot post; And "Real General Discussion" with a sub-sub forum "Forum Games", both of which are only VISIBLE to those who can post in the Observation Deck.
Signing up, there's a checkbox (check this to confirm that you are a spambot and get level 1 access) AND a captcha (Fill this out to be immediately upgraded to Level 2, if you AREN'T a spambot). Only one or the other has to be used, but you have to use one of them. Using both disregards the captcha, so you only get level 1.
There's a stickied thread that Level 1 users can't post in in the general discussion, "Level 3 upgrade thread", where you can ask to be upgraded to 3.
Spambots on the Spambot Farm are of course left to have their own conversations without banning. The General Discussion and Cesspit are areas where nothing is a bannable offense, but there are of course rules in the areas that level 3s can access which can be suspended or banned over.
It would be a place of beauty and terror.
