I don't give a shit what the mathematicians think about me anymore, because their lack of respect only displays the cracks in their own "superior" logic.
Damn straight. Numbers don't gender.

Hell yes.

Hell fucking yes.

Also don't worry Vector, we're all idiots here on this planet

EDIT: And more to the point, whoever you are you're awesome, so I'm reasonably confident that if you conclude that you're a dude, you'll be continue to be an awesome dude, or else you'll continue to be an awesome lady, or else you'll continue to be an awesome however else you identify.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Am I the only one who feels that gender confusion has become popular lately?
The worst part is, I'm not sure whether or not it's a good thing.
Brave New World says no- but their message is old-fashioned.
Ethics is hard...

Even worse is that I feel I've become the intolerant old man of the forums.

Let's be intolerant old men together~!

Well, eh. On one hand it seems kinda petty, but on the other hand people are literally dying because of identity politics, and people dying is definitely a bad thing.
I don't really give a sod about the topic itself, and I don't know if not caring makes me intolerant or not, but I will not approve of the condemnation a person simply because they aren't happy with their personal biology or whatever. That's needlessly harsh.

Brave New World
Actually, what did Huxley have to say on the subject? It's been ages since I read the book and I probably missed/forgot something.

Guys, educate yourselves. Do some research. Relevant issues deserve your time.

Medically speaking, transgender is considered a biological issue (by people that do more scienc-y, doctor-y stuff than us.) but keep in mind that that assumed that we have a binary gender system. Gender can be more of a spectrum, and no one should be ashamed or die because they do not fit a societal standard.

Orange Wizard has it right, maybe you don't understand, maybe you are confused and feel like you are too old to get it, (though I urge you to try,) but keep in mind that transgendered teens and adults are dying in droves to external violence and high rates of suicide.

Leelah Alcorn won't be the first or the last, but this is our chance to make lasting change.

Here is my sad thing, which will reveal some weakness on my part.

My experiences on these forums, which one might argue I could avoid if I'd stop speaking out, have stressed my body so bad that my reproductive cycle took a month off. (no I'm not pregnant or starving myself.) My body, after having to deal with flaming, slurs, and dogpiling (some of which wasn't even really intentional,) just decided that now would be a terrible time for me to have a kid. I agree with it, but it rarely makes that decision without my help.

So I am back, because this is the best game community I have found. Hopefully, it won't lead me to have more problems.

Yeah, I was trying to say that's a really bad thing. My phrasing gets a bit funky late in the day.

well I won't go into too much detail. The forums were shut down briefly to contain it so I don't want to get warned for summoning its ghost, but it felt like the entire world was against me at that moment.

Also, I like my tea with creamer and agave nectar plzty :D

Jerks have a way of appearing like they're larger than they are. I for one appreciate the effort you (and other people) have gone to in discussing and educating people about sexism and stuff on these forums.

On THESE forums?

Unless you've been arguing about religion, I just don't see it.
You know, except for me and my unpopular opinions- but I'm the minority here.

Keep in mind that transgendered teens and adults are dying in droves to external violence and high rates of suicide.

I am openly supportive of those who could be made outcast because they have a different sexuality or identify as a different gender.
My personal issue is identifying who does it because they inherently feel that way, and who is doing it because it is an interesting thing to try.
I was never okay with all of the teeny girls acting Bi because their boyfriends liked it, and I don't think I will be OK with similar people acting trans so that they can hang with the SJW's.
Some current 'sexualities' honestly just seem to be to be trending words for feelings that we never HAD to define and label before.

Sorry, normally I'd be the first advocate to shut down inflammable subjects like this, but I'm in a rare moment of vulnerability and hoping to get some inspiration as to whether or not I'm the problem, and whether I'm enough of a problem that I should change who I am again.

Also seriously I'm in my 20's. 'Too old to get it' just sounds like a bad excuse for closed-mindedness.

First step to not being the problem: Quit calling people 'SJW's.

-snip-

I think you're expressing a painful stereotype that I experienced regularly as a bisexual (I now identify as pansexual.)

This is called bisexual erasure. Gay people think you are gay and just haven't realized it yet, and straight people think you are going through a phase or doing it to impress the opposite sex.

If teen girls want to experiment with other girls, that's perfectly healthy and they should be allowed to do that.

As for transgendered individuals doing it because it sounds interesting, I heard of a very very few cases, but those people quickly experienced dysphoria themselves transitioning. It's not one of those things that is generally something you have questions in your mind about, you know or you aren't. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The violence and depression experienced by transgendered individuals doesn't make it something attractive to pick up as a fad. What I think you are experiencing is more people coming out because they feel they need to or perhaps now is a good time to get a discussion going.

Also, I know you didn't mean it this way, and I think most people who use it when posting don't, but SJW is a slur. It is an insult towards right's activists.

That being said, I only just found the term of SJW, and I'm sorry if it is being interpreted in a way more malicious than I intended.

I am fully aware that bisexual erasure happens, but just as it would be wrong for me to blindly assume that everybody who claims to be different is a 'faker', so too would it be a grievous mistake on your part to assume that all of them are 'for real'.
Humans are a strange type of animal which operates in herds whilst still craving new experiences. Experimenting with your sexuality is fine, but claiming to be something that you aren't for merit's sake is not.
