Run, calf, run. Life is painful and fleeting. :?.
Run, dwarfy, run. Calves are pains when fleeing.

There's an emptiness inside of me, and it's not just my missing appendix. I miss my ex...
Remind yourself that they're an ex for a reason. Things didn't work out, no matter the cause. It happens. It doesn't always feel nice to lose someone that you're close to, but sometimes it's necessary.
The worst part is, it wasn't because of something she or I did. Then I would have someone to blame. It was simply because we were heading different directions in life, and they didn't happen to be compatible.

I am getting not so lovely stomach pains, and my doctor says they are due to stress and depression. My parents refuse to believe there is not SOMETHING I need to be doing and am fucking up by not doing. They're blaming me for this. Magnificent.

Perhaps they are inadvertently correct. Have you considered defenestrating them? That sounds like it could help with the stress, at least.

I know it doesn't help to say, but don't listen to them. It's bad when family refuses to acknowledge your emotional distress, my parents did that for a very long time. They sent me to shrinks and then just utterly ignored and crapped all over me for my problems.

It has a long term detrimental effect. Just remember that what you are feeling it real and legitimate, and it matters.

When you have to do something, but can't do it without the help of other people (who are unresponsive/busy), so you sit around doing nothing because you'd feel guilty if you did anything leisurely :(

I am increasingly worried I'll have no final project to turn in for video production.

One way or the other, this situation with this girl is over in the next two days.

I'm not going to be second-string. I'm done with it. Either she needs to make a decision, or I shall make one for her. :/

I see good people fall into that trap all the time. Good for you for getting out of it.

Yes, very yes. If I hear one more "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" speech from them, then my shoelaces are going to start looking like strangulation hazards....

The same people who give me "advice" (poison), are the same ones who would call me an asshole if I actually went through with that on them.... I've taken to impolite mockery and screaming when necessary, because fuck people, all people.

Redhead* hasn't responded lately, I dunno if she's just been busy or if I've annoyed her. :(

She's been online but not... You know how Facebook says "Read at: (x)"? Yeah, that hasn't happened, and I don't know what makes that happen.

Truean, the only reason you can't pull yourself up by your bootstraps is that it's hard to define "up" in deep space, and the degree to which you are an awesome person and the challenges you've already overcome suggest that you've already yanked your bootstraps well out of Earth's gravity through sheer force of Fuck All Y'all. Seriously, you're pretty great and you deserve better than that shit.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
