My boss tried to call people to see if someone would come in to cover my shift, but nobody's picking up their phones, it seems.
I keep switching from incredably sad to extremely angry, and my muscle twitching is making it hard to stay standing.
I don't want to be at work, and I don't want to go home. I just want to disappear.

Did anything in particular trigger this?

He's not going to require you to stay is he?

My therapist is apparently hospitalized because of some emergency surgery. I'm not sure what's wrong, but I'm badly worried.

I don't even think I'd wanna warm up to a new shrink if he passed.
Well, here's hoping he's alright and makes a speedy recovery.

Therapist or shrink though?

Therapists you talk to about your problems, psychiatrists (shrinks) hand you a script for them.

Also shrinks are generally assholes.

My boss just now sent me home, which about an hour and fifteen minutes early.
I don't want to go home, so I'm just going to sit in the library parking lot for a bit.

Got very depressed, allowed myself to get very mad as an alternative. God damn it, I broke my last punching bag and I really can't afford another one right now.

I think I spend more time now days being angry than being crushingly depressed.

I don't really like the angry feeling though, it just leads to me not being able to maintain a controlled dialogue and accomplish things.

I am at the mercy of my impulses despite being painfully aware that they exist. I do not know how to fix this problem.

If I knew how to better control my own impulses, I'd offer help.
I'd also offer to buy Truean another punching bag if I could afford it, myself.

Received an email last week about a company I applied for wanting to schedule an interview with me. They told me they tried calling but they haven't been getting an answer. I put a friend's phone number on my application because I don't actually have a phone. I'm guessing I might've entered the number wrong or something.
Anyway, I didn't actually read the email until yesterday. I emailed back saying if it was still possible for me to get an interview. They told me, yeah, we can do it over email or you can call us. I called them today after going to an appointment I had to reschedule twice because I was sick. I was told the last interview they had available was... 15 minutes from when I called.

I'm currently kicking myself over not checking my email sooner.

I think it's in someone's sig somewhere. Can't remember who.

That's what I meant by collectivist thinking - if the above is your honest opinion and not just something you blurted out, fuck you wit something barbed and pointy. My shrink for example is a great guy, and talking shit like that is pretty damn arrogant.

... Uhm, I thought she was using "shrink" as a slur for crappy therapists.

What's the actual difference then?

Ahe meant psychiatrists - says so in her post. I doubt 'shrink' has a universally-accepted definition, though.
