So, I'm a bit disappointed with the people I know.
Tiruin is one of the only three people who have actually tried to be helpful with my depression, and only one of them has actually helped at all. Sorry Tiruin.
And the one who helped is just always happy and it's hard to be depressed and gloomy around him.

I told everyone I was considering stabbing myself, and I got a few of "I felt like that one time" responses, and a bunch of people who ignored me...
And one person who said "I hope you get better soon"
No one who tried to help or anything.

I try to let people know I care when they're sad, but I can't read every post.

Good luck. Things do actually often have a way of getting better over time, even if it doesn't seem likely.

A lot of times people will think something about your post but not feel strongly enough to comment.  Or not have anything to say.  Or in the emotions threads, skip over it because of a stupid derail.  I wouldn't assume that just because no one responds no one cares, ALTHOUGH it is crappy how significant posts can get skipped over in threads like these.

I want to write more about depression but I keep erasing it.  Do you mean clinically depressed or depressed as a synonym for sad?  Because if its the former my immediate response is "see an expert".  Sympathy is nice but therapy is better, from what I hear.

Tonight is shaping up to be another all-nighter. It's 3:40 AM and I'm not even halfway done with the draft I need by 12:30 or 12:10, I don't even remember. And with this little sleep, I must face both a 9 AM class and in the afternoon, a 3 hour class where I don't get to sit down. If I had just realized it wasn't a 3-day weekend before I made arrangements to go home (found out only after I got there), then I wouldn't be in this mess. Lesson is, triple-check your calendars.

The kind of cold that gives you a runny and blocked nose. I have it, and it's driving me insane... if I lie down, my nose gets entirely blocked so that swallowing is very hard. how will I sleep

Leave your mouth open to breathe and wake up with an insanely dry mouth. Counteract this by putting a glass of water or two by your bed.

Uh. Try blowing it all out with tissues? Drink a bunch of water? Sleep with your head/upper body/whatever at an angle so your throat doesn't get blocked?

I normally prop myself upright, slug at least one decongestant (look for something with pseudoephedrine in it), and sleep with several handkerchiefs next to my bed. I also resign myself to spending half the night awake.
