Man, I gotta quit reading Clarissa, this shit is depressing.
Isn't that the ridiculously terrible diary-type prose that was written in the 1800s or somesuch? I remember my English teacher talking about something like that at some point.
No, though there was one like that written by Samuel Johnson.
Read this as "Samuel Jackson". Would read that.

oh no the dreaded narrative where everyone is jerks but for no reason
even the nice characters are jerks
it's like edgy grimdark stuff but trying to elicit sympathy instead of contempt
No, there's sympathetic characters in the comic.
Having read it, I must attest that not even the sodding toy rabbit is sympathetic.

Well, there's Clarissa obviously, the black-haired brother, uh....
Well, the rest of the family get that to varying degrees, but those two stand out as the most sympathetic to me. The others kinda enable it.

I'd describe them more as apathetic.

I thought we were assuming Clarissa was sympathetic, for obvious reasons.
I disagree on the black haired brother though. He's still a jerk some of the time and does the same thing as the rest of the family, deliberately ignoring that there's a problem.

I've been feeling lousy all day. Jittery and weak. Also constantly hungry. Always hungry. Don't know if the jitters' from the anti-depressant or if it's 'cause I should eat more. Or maybe both.

I think the "eat more" thing is bullshit though. I eat food regularly. What more do you want you shitty meatsack body.

How about eating more sweets? Jittering can come from acutely low blood sugar levels. Eating regular stuff should however help with that as well - I used to notice that I had to eat by no longer being able to write from all the shaking.

I was always hungry before I started the anti-depressant though.

Aren't carbohydrates sugars? A lot of my standard diet is carbs like breads/pasta/rice. Don't think a lack of sugar could be the issue, and I do have a bag of cookies to snack on.

No, carbs are different than sugars. They can be broken down into sugars, but sometimes you need a bit sugar to correct imbalances.

Sugars are carbs, but carbs are not necessarily sugars. It's a wider category, including both some simpler and more complex stuff. The fact that it's used for different things in different lingos and in common parlance makes it even more confusing.

Weakness and jitters points to low calcium, but it's tricky - because calcium is involved in energy production, if you don't have enough sugar, like Helgo said, more calcium is used, and so...

I... actually have quite a bit of free time right now. I've got all my homework wrapped up for the week, basically, but I now feel too generally shitty to actually work on the stuff I really want to. Headache and nausea and bluh bluh bluh. I guess I'll play video games and hope for the best tomorrow? Ugh.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm trying to program something that I already programmed, just a few weeks ago, and I have no idea what I'm doing. I already solved this, but I'm staring at the screen in confusion with no idea what to do. wtf, brain, wtf.
