On Basements:
Areas with cold winters require a deeper foundation due to shifting earth from freezing. That is why most houses in Canada and the northern States have basements, whereas in warmer climes a pad is all that's required.

I wish I had the means to go to other countries and take people out of their shitty situations.

As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

This. So much.
However it also goes into the emotional/non-physical aspect; we can help no matter where they are by provision of support and advice to...well, soldier through their shitty situations and direct them to aid there. Even if they're physically out of their bad situations, they must also heal from whatever intangible remnants still stick to em through understanding em.

At least, all here are not inclined to pass on whatever **** they received onto others. That's the best thing: stopping the **** from being recursive from generation to generation.

In other news, it's not even half past five and I've already had half a dozen gangs of small children hammering on the door demanding sweets. I put a sign up telling them to bugger off, but apparently it "blew over in the wind". There is no wind. Halloween is awful.

Well, I haven't eaten today and it's 12:41 pm...
I missed my first block class because I was crying...
And I have to go home again later.

And it's all because my parents threw me out of the house this morning so that I wouldn't miss another day of early morning church. My teacher told me I shouldn't have come and let me sleep on the couch there though, that was nice.

I just went over all the spectrums of my emotions and started hallucinating and losing my sense of reality.
Yeah, I'd be a bit more concerned about your mental state right now.

Here, have an e-biscuit. Sadly it's the best I can do. Going without food sucks. As do stupid parents.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I'd be hesitant to go back home at all, if I were you, Capn.

@kal People go to church on days other than sunday? and what do you mean that your teacher said you shouldn't have come?

Geez, you need to get out of that situation. Got any social services in your area that can help you out? Theres gotta be something in New Zealand (that's where you live, right?) that you could call.

Do you have any nice relatives you could stay with? You said you have a girlfriend, maybe stay with her? Really, anyplace would be better than suffering.

I'd email you the pizza I'm eating now if that was physically possible.

different religions have different holy days/days of worship. Different denominations of Protestantism can have different days of worship than the typical Sunday.
