A significant part of gamergate is focused on feminism in gaming, and Anita is probably the biggest face for that right now.

I'm going to have to second LSP. If you want to discuss this, make a thread for it (which I would actually appreciate, seeing as I still can't comprehend why everyone is so upset) and try not to get it locked.
The subject is apparently too inflammatory to wave around in the emotion threads.

Five days, and I still have a headache.

Also, everything tastes a little like tangy acid? Even when there's nothing in my mouth, somehow things have that taste.

My mom and dad were being total assholes about it. Something about the usual conservative bullshit about "responsibility," and how I needed to learn it....  ???  ::) So I informed them that if responsibility was what they wanted, I would like to know their homeowner's insurance carrier so I could file a claim for getting shot in the fucking head with an airnailer.... Dad tried the usual macho crap, but eventually realized he would be screwed if it came to that.

Now at least they're paying for a doctor's visit on monday. I don't like being that way, and I really don't, but if I get a head injury while working for you for free, then lip is not going to be tolerated. [sigh].

They should be having the exact opposite reaction. I'm a little scared this headache hasn't stopped in 5 days and counting, along with the other crap that also hasn't stopped. Sleep has become very difficult, and my sense of balance used to be PERFECT. Lately I've been lightheaded and that throws me off.

Eesh. Hopefully you recover well, Truean.

Edit: a thought. I often had strange tastes in my mouth after suffering a concussion (I've had more than a dozen.) Maybe you're concussed?

a dozen minor or major concussions?
i thought if you had more than 3 major ones that the next one could be fatal

Yeah, if you have a bad headache, weird taste stuff and trouble balancing, then chances are you have some form of concussion. At least, from what I know about them.

Yep. Sometimes it tasted like blood. Sometimes it burned, like I'd recently thrown up. Sometimes, everything would smell weird for a couple of days. Brain trauma does weird things to you. I still have days where I can feel the effects. I'd go on, but it's damn depressing. If someone wants more info, though, I guess I'll give it to them.

Depends on your definition of major. I've had innumerable concussions that I powered through. "Innumerable" was the word that a neurologist used, and he stated that I had definitely had some trauma due to concussions. I've had a lot of "black out" or "bell rung so hard your legs turn to jelly and can't see" moments that turned into days. CTE is one of my greatest fears.

I'm thinking of mortality.

Also thinking of how I'm using my time here.

I've determined to stop trying to breeze by. I don't want to breeze: I want to experience.

This could be the start of a good thing!

I've been wondering recently whether I should write a will, just to be prepared for all eventualities. But I'm also wondering if doing that would make people unduly concerned.

Write a will. The worst that can happen is you'll have to explain nothing's wrong. Completely avoidable if you don't tell anyone but those you want to know that you're writing a will. (Providing they know not to tell others)
