University is so expensive for internationals... maybe I'll just not apply for any of the UCs after all, considering that they cost $36k a year and give no aid.... :/

What kind of sidekick? Remember, there are a few types.
There is the comedy relief sidekick, the young protege sidekick and there's the quiet one that ends up saving the day somehow.

why will no one take lead
Because they're all waiting for you to do it.

Yeees. Cap'n Kaladin travels the world stopping insane psychopaths from taking over the world. Should be pretty good.
Am I the protagonist? I have super hearing, I saved someone's life yesterday, I can shoot a bow and arrow...

I wanna be the rival hero who appears as better than the hero right up until the end when it's revealed he's lacking the power of friendship or something lame or just bought off the mayor or something less lame.

I'll be the electrician/plumber/chimneysweep that is the prime suspect before the protagonist gets going and is being detained unfairly under little more than circumstantial evidence that the protagonist proves innocent in the first 10 minutes of arriving on scene.  *gasps for air*

*in actual sad I bought some pop tart looking things full of bacon egg and sausage.  Sounded good.  They were not. I didn't know how somebody can screw up bacon egg and sausage, but apparently putting it in a toaster pastry is how.
