A 10 by 16 ft shed/barn....
Trying to set four level foundation stones (precast concrete) and make the base floor outer frame level on all sides.... My mom can make anything impossible, and after four hours, finally salvageable, sorta.
First, she wants the thing square to the fence/property line AND the houseline/driveway. Problem, the fence is diagonal and if you use a rise over run, it has a slant of about 2 feet for every 16 feet. We have to be at least 5 feet away from the property line. It will either be square with the slanted fence OR the houseline, (lining up with the house) NOT BOTH. It can't be straight and slant at the same time. She throws a hissy fit about this....crying, screaming etc.
Second, she "just wants to know where to dig the holes.... Ok the energy is admirable, but it's wayyyy more complicated than that especially considering the ground is NOT LEVEL. WE are building this damn thing on a slant.... This means you have to make the holes the right depth at the top and bottom of the slant which is also rounded.... You can't just dig god damn holes, because I essentially have to level the foundation stones for the floor, and you REALLY DON'T want foundation stones that are not level and a floor that is not level. I mean the foundation for any building, even a barn/shed, is pretty important stuff..... She just pretty randomly dug holes....
God damn it I give up.
