My brother feels the need to hold the cat in really weird ways, such as turning him upside down and holding him in the air, laying over him, and just generally making him uncomfortable and insisting that he's happy based on the fact that he finds the cat's angry face hilarious.

I feel sorry for the cat.

People have this weird need to torture their pets in small ways.

Holding cats improperly on purpose is unfortunately common.

Does the cat wag its tail?

I feel quite down right now. I've been doing stuff all week, but that means abandoning a novel I've been writing. It was in trouble, so I got tired of it. I can't seem to get past 15,000 words without running into some sort of variety of trouble. I hate falling face-flat at the first hurdle, running all the way back, and then taking a running jump... To fall flat at the first hurdle again.
Maybe I should sign up to NaWrANoMo? However you spell it? Anyway, it would provide some variety of push to it.

Yoink has been missing for a week.

At least, by post activity, and it's slightly over a week, but the point stands.

Yeah, sorry guys, I've sort-of moved (staying with a friend until we can actually rent a place with other friends as planed) and I haven't been able to set up my laptop yet. It doesn't have a battery, so I'd need somewhere to plug it in more permanently. I'm going to try and get up-to-date with Bay12 stuff (especially all the RTDs and games I haven't been posting in- sorry!!) using my friend's computer, but its keyboard is really weird and hard to use, and obviously I can't sit on it all day without interruption like I could with my own laptop. Also it is currently making some weird clicking/rattling sound whenever I hit a key, which is annoying to say the least.

What have I missed? Yes, I did search my name on the forums- wanted to make sure no-one was too enraged by my absence. :-X

I wouldn't call it torture, as it generally isn't deliberate. The trouble is that our empathic responses are hardwired to human norms, and many animal responses to discomfort or even pain easily map to positive human ones.

I love cats. Just because I kill them to make my people fear me doesn't mean I don't like the little furballs.

Sorry.
It's mostly calmed down now, but it's stil, threatening to come back. I think I just have to cry it out. Now I need some time to think, and figure this out.
