Those girls across the hall I've been mentioning? The ones I snubbed? They did this thing where they switched the nametags on the dorm doors so their nametags are on our dorms and vice versa. Been like this for a few days. Today, shortly after the snubbing, I found mine had gotten moved back. Just mine. Don't know what that means.

I think I screwed up. Yep. I'm an asshat. They probably think I'm a jerk. Yep. Great. Guess I can't leave my dorm now out of fear they'll see me and I'll screw up more or something.

Welp. No friends for me.

Turns out you can seriously not notice how deep into this shit you went until you get out.

The three girls in the dorm across the hall are being oddly friendly. Abnormally friendly. They regularly say hi to us (me or my roommates) whenever we happen to cross paths.

Earlier they knocked on our door and invited us to hang out in their room. Or at least, they loudly offered the invitation through the closed door of our dorm. Because the door remained closed despite their knocking. My roommates were at the gym and it was just me.

So, I get an offer to socialize and make new friends with what appears to be nice girls. My first reaction is to panic and play dead and act like no one's home, because oh god i'd have to socialize with strangers and they're girls and oh god oh man nope nope nopenopenope--

GG, me. GG WP no re.

Feel bad about it now because snubbing is rude but it's been a long tirin' ass Monday and I don't get payed enough to meet new people and do college shiz all in one day. I'd imagine if I had opened the door and clearly explained this to them and turned down their offer everything would've been fine, buuuuuuuut I've missed that chance.

Don't know which is worse, having almost everyone ignore you and not speak to you or have a select few people whom you don't know show abnormal interest in talking with you and incidentally emphasizing how totally socially awkward you are.
I will nudge you BETWEEN THE RIBS and tell you STOP ASSUMING
JUST TALK TO THEM.
Also here's a nice link for you. Sorry for the nudging.

STOP ASSUMING. STOP ASSUMING. STOP ASSUMING.
And then dwelling in your perceived future because of those assumptions and 'possibilities' which are worded as if they were fact. :-\
Sorry for abrasiveness but I'm sick.
Anyway: Wave back; say hi to them.
Talk to them. Stop assuming their intent.
TALK TO THEM.
Stop labeling yourself.
TALK TO THEM.
Stop making 'fact' from what you presume of their perception of you when you didn't yet
TALK TO THEM

Also look at the link more than at the capital words being repeated here, they're more echoing the most predominant thought that occurred when I read that. Sorry bout that ._.

But really, read the link. Learn to trust others, and mostly, learn to trust yourself.
As to why the abrasiveness--I will not stand by and let stuff like these pervade [you] :I T'was a reminder of my own childhood, and I've past that time.

Dammit my malaise is getting to me ever more. If I were an Arkonide I'd have totally degenerated by now.

After hours of attempts, the only winning term on the DeviantART search game I can find is "teak chair." Not even "granite countertop" survives.

What game is this, exactly?

Search any two-word term on DeviantART (barring peoples'/characters' names)
If you get less than 16 results, you lose
If you find any of the following within the first 2 pages of results, you lose:
-Anime/Manga style submissions of any kind
-Ponies
-Sonic
-Furries
-Sparkledogs
-Selfies with photoshop filters.

That says terrible things about the people on DeviantART.

I came close with "wooden hammer", got to the second group of results before some vaguely-anime images popped up. Everything else was either crafts or a picture of a Hammer Bro from Mario.

Done. Search "handcrafted quilt". One of the quilts has a horse on it, but it's not a pony.

Anything handicraft-related would probably have a decent chance of working, actually.

How do you know that? Is there a meterstick or human for scale? :P

Maybe it has a label? "FYI: I AM NOT A PONY"?
