Come with me. I will show you how to punch your fears. Even the existential ones. Especially the existential ones.
It's ok :D I punched it already.
Now I'm dealing with the aftereffects and collateral damage, but I'm totally improving. Fear of judgement is gone.
Time to move forward.

:-\ :( :'(
*Hugs Tiru and Hans and Captain, probably all at the same time*

...
Someone stole the basket of kittens in my hall.
It's not like they were outside on the porch, they were in the hall, around the corner so you couldn't see them unless you actually went inside.
I called the landlord but he doesn't know where they went and my neighbors won't answer their door. I'm hoping that my neighbors just took them in but I'm kinda doubting it, and I know there are fucking sick people that live around here so if someone did take them they're probably all dead by now.
I just don't get why the hell people even do this. :'(

Why was there a basket of kittens in your hall?

We had a basket sitting out there and a cat claimed it for her babies. ._.

They will be missed, if that is the case.

At some point though you should break into your neighbor's home so that you can check to see if your recruits are still alive.

I don't think that would be legal.
A note has been left on their door, so hopefully when they get that they'll respond in some way.

Why would you be afraid of dying? Everyone dies. If I were you, I'd be more afraid of not really living. You've only got so much time, so you'd better get to it.

Having just finished Persona 3, I can confirm that welcoming death can cause Bad ThingsTM to happen.

Off-topic, but I'd love to see this exchange happen in some sort of work of fiction. Maybe one day we could have a decent Dungeons and Dragons movie (I mean, we've finally gotten good comic book movies lately, so it's within the realm of possibility), and just before they head into the dungeon, a newbie adventurer gets this talk from a monk veteran.

And when the veteran eventually has to hold off a horde of monsters so everyone else can get to safety (because he's a more powerful mentor figure, so he either has to leave on his own accord or die so that the main character can learn to be his own man), he'd say to the newbie something like, "I'm buying you a bit more time on the Mortal Plane. It may just be a few seconds or it may be decades, but, either way, make each second count."

And then he proceeds to kick so much ass. The monsters surround him, and the last shot you see of him is him still fighting them all.

And today I feel like such a idiot, and I have to go see her later and. She's gonna give me 'That Talk'. It's always phrased all nice like and stuff. They try so hard not to make it hurt.

Wrap a dagger in velvet. Yeah, that'll help.

I am a fool. How come I've known this for ages and I never seem to notice when I'm making mistakes again?

Well, at least they ARE trying to not make it hurt. That's gotta mean something.

And you won't be able to see your own mistakes unless in hindsight because human psyche is not optimized for objective reality-measuring. At least you're aware that you're doing that.

Cancelled the whole visit later. Now she's just going to call me around one. This is my lunch update. Probably going to have another one of the shittiest days in my life today, so wish me luck.

And yeah, I guess they care enough to not want to hurt my feelings. That's nice of them. :/
