Are there sources of fresh water on any of those? We'll need water for the Bay 12 Brewery.

...and for regular drinking and farming I guess.
How about this one? It sits in the largest freshwater lake in the world.

And that's £840,982?

Doesn't seem too bad.

You're all forgetting the worst part about undeveloped islands. No internet cables. Moving to one would be like having a cyberbrain lobotomy. And having gone without internet for a full 8 hours yesterday, I can say for a fact That Would Be Awful.

You say that like it wouldn't be a priority to get them up and running. Screw housing and food, we need internets!

Yes, and then we can talk on the forums, ignoring the fact that we're all on the same island :P

"And the top story this weekend: the continental shelf of Brazil has collapsed into the Atlantic Ocean. Preliminary reports trace it back to a group calling themselves 'Bay 12' mining into the Earth's mantle. More at 6."

I just want to be clear - I am actually game to drop $5,000 on this if it happens within the next year. I've realized that deadlines have passed on obligations that will consume half my savings, hence the decrease. Keep in mind, your property will not be sovereign, so it's not as though you can implement whatever laws you like.

I'm game to match this. Maybe we should find some unclaimed territory though?

No unclaimed territory I'm afraid to say, Glloyd. There's DISPUTED, but not unclaimed.
What about Bir Tawil? Of course, there's also the ocean floor and all the land off of the Earth, but hey, let's start small, eh?

Most of Antarctica is unclaimed, and IIRC there's a bit of land in the Middle East that is unowned by any country for some reason.
I'm not sure if we want to go the Syrupleaf route and settle in Antarctica, though.

I'm up for that 2M NZD island in Canada, though. Now if only I had two million dollars.

That's what I was thinking of.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Once all the details are hammered out, we just need someone to set events rolling.

I think project: Fuck the World would actually fuck the world in two different ways if we implement it right, and pull from the mantle.

We'd end up with tons of rocks up here and a decrese in pressure below, causing worldwide catastrophic earthquakes.

Let's do it guise.

Quote from: Island description
Because the Canadian Government will sell no land bordering on the Great Lakes, Parisian Island will remain in its natural condition, as a Conservation Reserve, never to be developed, in perpetuity.
The two million dollars is for a small chunk of land:

Only one segment of the island, its southeastern corner, is privately held. That is the parcel here described, which I own.
In other words, we need to be more careful about where we look.
