Yeah... well, that's the next thing that needs to be figured out.
Even if Bay12 does come up with the funds to purchase this island/these islands, how are we going to set it/them up to sustain a population? We'd need to make sure the island had enough room to house everyone (I guess we could dig underground, sticking with the dwarf theme, although we aren't dwarves and that would probably get unhealthy fast), as well as to grow crops.

I, for one, wouldn't be too enthused about a diet consisting exclusively of fungi.

Edit: Better include a lot of stuff in that kickstarter to cover set-up expenses.

Quick google search brings up a 52 acre island off the coast of Nova Scotia starting at $29500 CAD.

And a private island website. Apparently Canada has the most islands.

There are a huge amount of diamonds in the mantle and core of the Earth, and unless I'm mistaken there's no international law against digging too deep and too greedily.

I just want to be clear - I am actually game to drop $5,000 on this if it happens within the next year. I've realized that deadlines have passed on obligations that will consume half my savings, hence the decrease. Keep in mind, your property will not be sovereign, so it's not as though you can implement whatever laws you like.
