Whelp. Leaving for college in 2 hours. Slept terribly, still stressed and nervous, but at least I'm not as emotional as...whatever shit that was I shitposted yesterday. Disregard that.

Think the worst thing is that college is this whole new completely different experience and it's disrupting my entire routine. Living in a completely different city that I'm unfamiliar with, living with people I've never met, etc. Don't even know where I'm gonna be eating tomorrow. Or tonight, for that matter. This is just "move-in week" and I don't know if the college is going to be providing meals or where to get those meals or if those meals will count towards my limited meal plan or if I'll just have to go to restaurants or what.

I basically have next to no idea what I'm walking into and just have to wing it. And not knowing stresses me out. A lot.

If memory serves, the campus IS likely to be plastered with older students getting paid to help newcomers around during move-in week, although it probably varies from school to school. So you might not be as badly off as it seems now.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Headset has gone from 'sorta glitchy' to 'Pristine on the outside, FUBAR on the inside'.

No longer can I speak, hear, update the firmware or even turn the damn things off.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

And I don't even live in LA. But it's okay. Life is good, and it goes on. :) Maybe things suck really, REALLY hard sometimes, but life is still fun and interesting.

I find the tenuous connection between me and one other person to be the one thing keeping me from deep, utter depression at the moment. Life is strange, and beautiful, and painful. I love you, by the way. All of you. Just throwing that out there. :)

Well, we could put two and two together and write a book: "The Shit that Hans and Max Did: You Won't Believe This Shit."

Feeling sick. Of course, my body decided to wait until I was working alone to get me running to the bathroom.
