What you need to do is just force yourself to remain in bed for a set, preferably eight hour period each night.
You most likely won't get to sleep at first, at least not for hours, but if you keep forcing yourself to keep that routine of staying there in bed, not moving or distracting yourself with internet, your body will quickly start to get the idea. :)

I broke down crying last night from a harmless thought about my attractiveness.
What the hell, brain.
Doesn't seem that harmless given the effect. :-\
Seems like it was reinforced after the thought had occurred by continuous other thoughts in the way that made it come about.

I don't know. Something's made me feel pretty sad, indeed, today, but damned if I can put my finger on it.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Post-high school, I'm very quickly finding that most of the people I considered my best friends really don't give a damn about me now that we don't have to go to school together. It's the way that they're always just busy enough to dodge hanging out with me, despite apparently having plenty of time to spare for all their other friends, that hurts the most.

I haven't had any contact with even my closest friends whom I've known since elementary and middle school since graduating high school in June. It's probably partly my fault, but they don't seem to show much interest in keeping in contact with me either. I don't want to intrude on them or burden them or seem needy or anything by messaging them or asking to hang out or something, so it's just sorta me passively waiting for them to show interest in what I'm doing with my life. So I'll probably never see them again, in retrospect.

So, uh, at least you've kept some contact with people you considered your friends. Could be worse.

I'm not able to contribute to any open source projects :( The huge systems for most of them are beyond my grasp...

I know how it feels, Miauw, even if I've managed to avoid forming any crushes in a long time. :-\ Sympathy.

Anyway, my sad is: Winter. I am sick of Winter already. Now I miss the stinking hot summer I was complaining about, where I could just while away the days sitting around in just a pair of shorts with sweat literally pouring off me. I'M SORRY SUMMER I DIDN'T MEAN IT WHEN I SAID THOSE MEAN THINGS ABOUT YOU PLEASE COME BACK ;_;

Also, back to actually being productive from Six to Five tomorrow. Blaah.
