The funny thing is, one of the bigger things that helped me get through my depression was realizing, no I don't actually have to amount to anything.

Since deep down if life is without meaning I feel I can live it however I want to, it's my life after all.

Update on roommate: Roommate is fine :D

I was confused as to what the issue was in the first place, but then I remembered the differences Re: legal drinking ages. :-\

And that's the beauty nondescript abstractness of Nihilism. Or maybe Existentialism. Really, the two are kind of similar at this point.

To put it on a coffee cup:

Nihilism: Life is meaningless.

Existentialism: [...] But look at all the cool stuff we can do!

That's my coffee-cup understanding, at leasty :v

I am happy right now and it's mentioned in the happy thread, but I am also thinking that I need to drink more because my life is so meaningless. It's not a happy thought.

Go make some friends or translate some poetry~

Out of curiosity, Vector, do you make a literal translation, or do you change some words so they rhyme? And how do you even keep the syllable count on track? Now that I think about it, that sounds hard.

Not all poetry rhymes, you know. Milton doesn't.

Of course not all poetry rhymes.

It's just not as fun when it doesn't. :P

I'd change Existentialism to: Yep. ...I'm bored, let's go do something now that we got the meaning of life out of the way.

In fact, I daresay that an anti-nihilist is somebody who enjoys life for what it is, without any meaning, not even a self-imposed one (which is the primary reason I'm not an existentialist; giving life a meaning is kind of a hassle).

Good examples from fiction that I can think of are that one scene from Monty Python's Life of Brian (you know the one), probably most of the Discworld books ("But here and now, we are alive!"), beret guy from XKCD, and SCP-1281.
