My sad: my sister was running through the yard when my dog took a sharp turn, causing her to trip on him and fall on her face.
...that makes you sad?
I would say that is the bit where you point and laugh before helping her up.
It was humorously sad. Sort of like a favorite TV character getting comically punched in the face.

Why do you wish to be their friends in particular? I ask because, if it's a shared interest or something, you could ask them to do something related to that, or just talk to them about that.

If you have no shared interests, friendship is unlikely.

They smoke weed and listen to Black Sabbath, what more could one ask for in a friend? :P
More seriously though, from what I've seen of them they appear to be cool people, and if one is lucky enough to get cool neighbours instead of scummy ones like most neighbours, it seems to me that befriending them would be desirable.
Still, I don't necessarily want to be 'friends' with them, just... neighbourly or whatever. No idea how that shit works.

Oh well, I guess I'll just go on saying "hi" when I bump into them.

Also, people are setting off dynamite this week. Someone blew themselves up yesterday, but survived.

...Where the heck do you live, that setting off dynamite is a means of celebration?! :o
I think only one person was setting it off, so it's stopped now, since they blew themselves into the hospital. Either that, or they had a big stash and accidentally tripped it all at once.

Been planning all week to watch the Korra premier with my family, but at work my mom forgets and schedules an expensive dinner to celebrate the end of a painful time at work. Eating when you have no appetite is hard, so now they're all worried, and we come back to find Nickelodeon is airing Full House reruns until 3AM after Korra. No rerun. I hope they put the episodes on their site at least.

Oh, look, something I've had a lifetime of.

Reminds me of something else that's been making me sad for ages. That dog -tripping sister I mentioned before happens to be trying to fit into any modern stereotype for, uh, "tweens" in existence. She thinks she's  fat (the girls in her class are metaphorical toothpicks), she spends all day listening to cheap modern pop music,  she watches reality shows and those stupid sitcommy shows with some pop star as the main character,  etc. etc.

It's sorta depressing when your only sibling withdraws into her own world, disconnected from everything she used to hold dear.

I read this and imagined your sister holding a deer. I should probs go to sleep.

Sucks about your sister being like that. I'd imagine she'll grow out of that once high school hits. Hopefully. From my own experience in high school, the whole clique thing and peer pressure and trying to fit in seemed to dissolve into unimportance as everyone just does their own thing. Then again, I'm not a teenage girl. Nor am I a person who gave much of a shit about fitting in anyway... She'll grow out of it eventually, I'm sure. It's just a phase, like goth or rock and roll. Probably.

I can safely say that I concur with rock being a lifestyle, not a phase, and was mostly pointing fun at when rock first started and old people were all like "that devil music's just a phase. You darn satin worshipping hippies."

Google'd 'satin worship'. Was disappointed.

So I made my own image.

Kind of sad Subscription pretty much only exists for World of Warcraft, I was kind of hoping it would make a resurgence.

Since it isn't that I dislike free to play... It is that I dislike the constant incessant nagging pretty much all free to play games have... where not having it is a feature.

Neverwinter and Dungeon Fighter Online being the two MMOs I would have probably played to completion had they not included those features.

Cannot...
Pick strawberries? Grow strawberries? Eat strawberries?
Um...
Be strawberries? Hear strawberries? There's probably a hundred verbs you could possibly mean :<
