Those... things. The thin not!blankets. Bed coverings? Usually goes above the mattress, below the main blanket. Something. I dunno, they're all blankets to me. Might work better than a towel, if you've got one with a fairly loose weave. Similarly, window curtains, if you've got particularly light ones. Towels are actually fairly warm, in my experience.

can't you people just rest under a single blanket like regular nerdlords

That would be as asinine as only having one pillow. Instead of no less than a half dozen.

Then I shall recline further into my infinitely comfortable bedding throne* and call you a fool, fool.

*Lesser bedding throne, actually. I'm away from home, so it's only made of about four pillows, a blanket, and one of those giant pillows with arms on them. The other giant pillow (which is something like 3/5ths the size of me, purple, and wonderful) and second blanket forms the foot recline further down the bed. Normal bedding throne adds another couple of blankets and about five more pillows. On top of what the actual bed comes with. I may be a poor something or other, but I lounge like a greek god.

I simply cannot sleep with any less than 2 pillows, except when watching a movie late at night.

This particular towel is slightly moist. Not sure why, but it cools it a little.

Anyway, for some reason, the blankets available to me are faux-fur, quilts, thick woven white ones, and a mildly thick one that I'm not sure how to describe. None of those are ideal for this heat.

i'd say something about materialism but i honestly can't be fucked with "my tastes are better than yours" today

only time i'll have more than one pillow on my bed is when i want to sleep with a daki

that's it, thank you

Nah, it's not a materialism thing, per se. More hedonism. A properly constructed bedding throne is incredibly comfortable, and by the gods, if there's one place I'm going to be comfortable it's in bed.

Had to throw a dead cat away, which was festering on the driveway earlier this morning. It was gross, and sad, and I couldn't bear to touch it directly (with a glove, of course). T-T

I hate doing stuff like that, which I will unfortunately have to start doing much more often soon.  My grandparents run a crematory next door, and the other day I started helping them out with it.  The dead animals are always in bags, but that just makes it so you can't immediately tell what body part you are holding.

Sleep without any coverings?
Savages!
I had a friend visiting from out of town who slept under his covers one night. They found him the next day, drowned in his own sweat.

I don't usually use covers, but when I do, I prefer paper thin sheets. Stay warm my friends.
