the wearing of a mask is a skill that has to be honed

just keep trying, i'm sure it'll work at some point

e: in other news i'm fucked up enough to be unable to watch romance for prolonged periods without flipping out

everything is terrible

Why is it so hard to feign positivity?
I'm trying to act more cheerful so that people will like me more, but then it would be a matter of time before I spout out something cynical.
Do you have to pretend to be cheerful?
Cynicism can be equally endearing, and also less likely to be infuriating.

I just noticed that it's a pattern for the more cheerful people to be more popular. There's only so far a cynic can go before they piss off someone.

Why is it feigning anyway?

Because I'm irritable, depressing and self-centered?

Because I'm irritable, depressing and self-centered?
I would say the first and third aren't necessarily barriers to having people like you, and the second is something you're imagining, unless multiple people have told you that outright.

I am by no means a social interaction expert (excuse me for a second as I laugh at this idea), but I've found being aware of your imperfections and lampshading them is much better than faking, as long as you're not saying this to make people excuse your behavior.

Just Cause 2 is not NEARLY as fun as I expected. Been wanting to try it for over a year, finally fired it up tonight, and found it to be nigh-unplayable :(
Unplayable?
Dunno what it is. Grappling is very hit-or-miss, parachutes sometimes fail to deploy, and actually controlling yourself in freefall/while gliding is impossible so far as I can tell.

One early mission wants me to ascend the side of some casino to disarm bombs at the top. After several minutes of failing to get past the third floor and falling to the bottom of the mountain, I gave up.

Sounds like you have some bugs to sort out.
