I know this will sound petty compared to the previous stuff, but damn.

I've been working on an update for a game in bits and pieces over the past week or so, an update that requires drawings. I needed to do a new background, though, and I completely fucked up the file. Now I probably won't be able to update until the end of term, because research paper.

I could actually give less shits about IG. 13 is the age of self-entitlement.

Dude, it's alright to not care about what somebody's going through, but don't go out of your way to tell them that to their face.

Age and maturity are 2 different concepts.

I prefer to let people know if they have done something wrong.
In my eyes, getting angry at online people because they didn't care enough about is wrong, and I'd honestly not rather have the entire forum become more standoffish as a result.
Thankfully the reaction at my words is a convincing reminder that we all are actually people- and strangely enough, nice ones.

So I apologize for my generalization. However I still won't tolerate someone who hurts their kid sibling that badly, and then blames good people for it.

Bullying knocks any sense of self-entitlement out of you, trust me.
Actually, I've seen it make it far, far worse. Sometimes almost to the level of pathology.

And I know someone who was bullied to the point he's tormented by his sense of worthlessness and dread to this day.

The point is that bullying does not have stable psychological effects, and depending upon the effected individual it can go several different ways. Some of which are really, really fucking annoying.

I did sound rather like disagreement there, didn't I? I wasn't actually disagreeing with you.

I think we can all agree bullying's not the best thing to happen, really.

I was bullied a fair bit in school, and it was a horrific experience.
However, it was responsible for a lot of good personal growth. Like, I dread to think the person I would be today if I wasn't.

What the hell type of schools do you lot go to?

I mean, damn. I've seen people get verbally put down all the time and called it bullying, but damn.

Someone needs to go through your schools and rebuild the entire system from the bottom up.

My mother's feeling very depressed today. She's currently sobbing in her bedroom which I can hear from down here.

No matter how things are going for you it's really really hard to be happy when someone you love is seriously depressed.

The system?
In mine, it was the values the people held. The teachers were awesome (and the counselor was my best friend--most friendly and wise person I've met, not including my parents).
...They were a good balance to what bad stuff happened in my childhood.

That I choose to forget 8 years of it.
...Alright, it's rather solidly vivid in my mind. Woohoo selective memory like an elephant, but still. Not good stuffs. Being laughed at by the class and one of the teachers (yeah...) due to performing badly at grade 3-ish kills self esteem. Continue that for a few years in varying situational events and also physical violence due to...bullies. Yeah.
*looks at lego pile*
Building it back up anyways.

On that note, I still wonder why giving the silent treatment has any merit. I mean, it does...technically work, tried it and works at times...but against bullies in general?
...Erh. Can anyone elucidate that idea to me? :o

Yes, the system. If someone does that, the system should punish them.

Do you disagree?

I dunno, but silence works for me. I learned to deal with bullying by withdrawing inward and ignoring everyone. It worked, but in the long run it probably hasn't been the best idea. I'm still working at pulling myself out of my shell.
