Schools have counselors now?
There weren't any in any of the schools I went to until college. If you had a problem, you went to a one of your teachers or occasionally the vice principal.
Or is this an American thing?
Yeah, most schools in the US have some kind of counselor (or several, depending on school size).
We have school counselors, but I've never known anyone to actually visit one.
Spent most of my third, fourth, filth, and seventh grade talking to counselors for various things...
Speech classes because... I have no idea actually. I forget.
Bullying.
Lashing out at bullies.
Socialness because apparently I wasn't doing good socially despite being friends with most of my grade or at least
not enemies.
Theeeeen these special teacher that does the whole class where you go during another period and have to do all this extra bull shit because of it where I ended up talking and ended up realizing that... Nope. It's not confidential.
Fun fact: This was around the time I discovered MLP:FiM so I talked a bit about that. 2 + 2 = Figure it out. However that's not the case.
Yeah, there are counsellors, however my experiences aren't final... Sooo.
I don't say anything to people unless I am certain I can either trust that person entirely or I am fully anonymous.
Either get to know them first in one on one. Talk to them about your concerns. Hell, write a letter, put in on the front desk as an anonymous message or something and have a similar letter sent to you when they get back. Whatever makes you feel comfortable doing this would help considering your situation.
Hope everything works out
