I am exceptionally morose right now.
Have you tried cake? Go out and buy a cake. Seriously. Just go buy a cake. I did it once, and I was laughing hysterically. It might not have been cake. But that's not the point. I want cake.

It's exactly midnight. All places that sell cake are rightfully closed to the public. :P

...Buy ice cream, then?
I'm not really one to advocate comfort eating myself, but hey. There should be some 24-hour convenience stores selling dessert stuff.

... Okay, I've imbibed about half a fifth of alcohol. It is a very poor decision to drive at this point. :P I instead choose to comfort myself with IRC. :)

I really feel like I'm wasting my life. I'm tired of life. That's pretty much the sum of my feels.

I attempted posting earlier angsty rants about my bullshit sads but I didn't feel comfortable posting angsty emotional ranting and forcing you guys to read it and lose your precious time to my bullshit. Despite this, I feel like I should post something about my sads, because I guess I'm a part of some internet community and that's what community members do, or something.

Anyway, sads. Carry on as you were, sad thread.

Ah, don't worry about it. If you post your sads, people who care will read them, and people who don't won't. If you're really worried, you can put them in a spoiler block so that it takes an active decision to read them. Also, much as I doubt that you're wasting your life, I won't try to debate the point with you; I'll just recommend that you do try to look at what you are doing instead of focusing on what you're not. In any case, you know your life better than I do - but even if I'm wrong, and against all odds things are as bad as they feel, you can change that.

Maybe you aren't the person you want to be today. That's okay. You can start on the road to becoming that person. And you don't have to start before you're ready; maybe you have to make some other changes to become the person who's ready, first. That's okay, too.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Parents have started drinking again. Mom's had bypass surgery and now gets drunk on a single glass of wine but refuses to recognize her limits have changed. Dad's been told by the doctor to stop drinking alcohol or he'll die. They were finally off it for a couple months but now the wine's come back.

Want to get rid of all the alcohol in the house but have nobody to give it away to. Nothing I can do without being treated as a villain.

Destroy it, then. If you find alcohol, pour it down the sink. Tell them you won't see them kill themselves in front of you without a fight.

Or let them reap what they sow.

...aaaaand due to miscommunication, there was no session with my psychologist scheduled today. I only found this out after getting out of school and making the 30 minute drive down there, due to the assumption that there was in fact an appointment scheduled. So, that was a useless hour+ long trip for nothing.

On the bright side, I have some time out of high school to spend at my leisure until I got to go back for other classes. And I'm too tired and burned out to feel like doing anything except kill time until I go back to school. To waste more time. Whee.

Wait, you're in high school? Dude, wasting time is practically the point of high school. Seriously, the fact that that bothers you indicates that you are leagues ahead of your peers, when it comes to life in general. Which also indicates that, in terms of life events, you're not so much wasting time as you are blazing ahead at an alarming rate. So yeah, don't feel bad about that.

The appointment thing, though, that sucks. Miscommunication is shit, especially when it fucks with the rest of your schedule.

I'm literally graduating in 2 weeks. Most of my classes are just watching movies. Those are advanced classes who are just watching movies, btw. High school's over. On to "High School Round 2: This Time You're Paying Shitloads of Money For It!"

High school is not an excuse for not doing anything productive with my life. The problem is that I'm not meeting my absurdly high perfectionistic expectations for myself. Then I make myself feel bad. It's a long story and I don't feel like explaining every little psychological issue, when I already have to do that to the psych. The problem is I'm a pessimistic, perfectionistic socially awkward loner who hasn't accomplished anything in those 4 YEARS of time. I haven't done anything I'm proud of, I haven't done anything I think gives my life meaning. And my future is pretty much more years of me being an underachieving pessimistic perfectionistic socially awkward loner. It's not particularly exciting to think about.

I'm probably just way too burned out from high school and angsting about crap on the internet. Whatever.

I will say one thing though.
Dude, wasting time is practically the point of high school.
If that's the point of 4 years of a person's life then that's utterly worthless and pointless. I can just as easily compare various other moments in life to this argument. "Wasting time is practically the point of hobbies." or "Wasting time is practically the point of getting a job and making money." or "Wasting time is practically the point of being a kid." or "Wasting time is practically the point of life in general." and I really don't like that. I could do something about that, go out and change my life or something, but if I haven't done it already I probably won't do it tomorrow either.

EDIT: The problem is probably that I'm too hard on myself. There. Case closed, problem solved.

Happened to me as well with my therapist two weeks ago. I was panicking, since the whole thing was being covered by health insurance and I thought that would be the end of it (you usually have to wait 6 months until a spot opens up if you want health insurance to pay for it, but I got lucky enough to get one within days).
Called her and was really happy to hear that it wasn't much of an issue. I took it as an incentive to become a less messy and chaotic person.
