Work at a video game store, no time for video games.

I haven't slept in over a day, but I want to keep reading. :<
Dangit body, why can't you stay awake?! Book is too good to put down. I probably won't be able to sleep anyway.

I know how that feels  :)

Why, whenever I read a book, does it wait to reveal its best bits until I want to go to sleep?

It's uncanny.

Welp. That conversation with the gf made me feel worse than before I started it. Apparently I make loads of jokes that make her feel guilty about things. She also visited her ex today and my old hang-ups about them to resurfaced full force. The whole conversation felt awkward and forced.

Arghh. I hate this disconnect.

Hope it improves for you mate. On the bright side, if she's telling you that the jokes made her feel uncomfortable, then she's likely trying to fix it, which is always a good sign in my (limited) experience :)

And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.

How the devil is one supposed to find affordable, quality housing when people aren't desperate to fill a lease with anybody at all as long as it's fast?

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Is it just me, or ever since the vibrationary revolutionary avatars appeared, Descan's been getting more evil daily?

Mad with power, anyone?  :P

No, but seriously, my entire strategy last time hinged on the complete lack of buyers a month after school started. Without that, I have no leverage! I strongly suspect I may have to live without a dirt-cheap apartment within a 10 minute walk of my place of employment with a full bath, appliance-filled kitchen, air conditioning, laundry facilities, adjacent bus stop, and parking space.

If you call that living.
