I've solved all of my emotional problems by not giving a fuck anymore. So far it works.
That's depression.
I think depression falls under the category of emotional problems.

I really do wonder if there's a single psychologically untroubled person on these forums sometimes...
I am perfectly fine.
At least, there's no reason to think I'm not perfectly fine.

I think I'm perfectly fine. Except stress levels, which have risen due to exams, but that's an annual occurrence for the last 4 life deciding years.

I coped with things by apathy for a while until I couldn't do it anymore and now I feel worse, so I doubt apathy is a good solution.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my thumb is just stress.  Still annoying.

I dunno why, but I'm just constantly hungry lately. Like, an hour or two after I eat, no matter how much I had, suddenly severe hunger pangs for no reason. Staying satiated seems to require like 4000 calories a day and I sure as hell am not burning it all, so I dunno what the deal is. Just gonna have to deal, I guess.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Tapeworms also cause that, iirc.

It's probably nothing though. I felt similarly for like a week and it eventually went away.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Yeah, it could be a non-alien parasite. But I kind of doubt that.

I despair at humanity right now.

Decided to look at some road rage stuff. From what I can tell in the eyes of some people:
Cyclists are second-class citizens and deserve every misfortune that befalls them
People that try to kill cyclists are heroes
If a cyclist was flattened by someone doing 100 in a 30 zone, it would be the cyclist's fault.

Seriously? If there's a god, they REALLY made flawed humans.
Despair less by broadening your mind and viewpoint.

In all seriousness, this may sound abstracted to you--but you only view a very TINY sample of the population and their ideals there.
That does not hold for 99.9% of the rest of humanity >_>

And here, I poke at your cynic-side because it seems like it holds more control over your beliefs than not.
If there's a God, then that God would let humans realize and solve their problems instead of doing it all and fixing everything while letting us not learn from them.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my thumb is just stress.  Still annoying.

Tiurin, I have to say that you are the most cheerful, kind and infectiously idealistic person I've had the pleasure to talk to in my entire life and that reading your comments helps me fight depression better than any pills. Thank you very much for always brightening my day :D.
