My mom has 2 incurable chronic diseases, one breast, constant pains, an ossified spine and a husband that is less understanding and suportive than a sack of braindead puppies. So I never blame her for anything as well.

just struck several (SEVERAL) times with a kitchen knife. It's so scarred I bandage it up so I don't get constantly asked about it when I'm out.
Why do we all have dysfunctional mothers?
heh, i do, but not quite like that.

In other news, I'm really not doing too well.

Health or just general trouble?

I've a scar on my arm where my mother tried to dig into it with her fingernails. She also tried to bite me but couldn't manage. The scar's mostly faded now.
This was probably caused by her medication. She's always been a bit mean but rarely violent.

My family problems were pretty minor compared to what's been listed so far. I got acceptance from them for being bi and marrying a transwoman. My parents now respect me and I them.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

You know, it's really weird, the things that form scars, and the things that don't.

I've got a pair of scars on my ankle, one from a screen door, and one from a damn plant, and yet a kukri going through my hand healed without a scar at all. Or the various third-degree burns I've obtained, all healing without scars.
I just don't get it.

How did you manage to get a kukri through your hand?

Accidentally self-inflicted.

Now you know not to juggle knives (or things similar to knives).

I remember cutting open my finger whilst trying to throw a knife at a wooden wall.
Hey, it worked the first time...

The worst I can remember was headbutting a glass table. I still have the scar from that.

Oddly enough, I don't have a scar from when my hand was cut open by a pair of scissors back in pre-school.

E: Remembered that I have two marks on my right thumb from when one of my step-mother's cats bit straight through it.

No, I've juggled knives with no problem, I was just swinging the things normally.
(I wasn't taking into account the curve in the blade, when thinking about where my other hand should have been.)

I once tried to make fruit salad with an extremely sharp fish skinning knife and ended up making skin and blood salad instead. And also there's that one time I burned my finger to the bone.
