Everything is abstract representation. The English language is nothing more than abstracted ideas put into somewhat agreed upon forms for communicative use. You think that the language we're using wasn't made up at some point?

Point taken, but I meant abstract relative to other every day concepts.

I mean, why call that particular picture math, and not something like the Mona Lisa. Because of a symmetrical pattern? That's awfully vague.

Then again, I don't really care much for the fine arts. Interpreting paintings and poems and stuff seems pretentious a lot of the time, because at some point, abstraction can go so far as to become meaningless to the original source. Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar. yadda yadda yadda... I'm saying, it's not my cup of tea.
