Recent studies actually are finding that coffee plants produce the caffeine to get the animals hooked so they keep coming back to eat the beans and spread the seeds.

So uh. We fell into the trap too.

I dunno about you but coffee beans are gross and even if I ate one I would chew thoroughly and it would be a roasted ("slain") bean anyway. So I don't think we're going around pooping out little coffee plants.

But we are cultivating them as crops, so the strategy is working even if it's not -quite- what the plant had in mind when it decided to evolve to be addictive. Even if the -exact- fruit we roast and boil doesn't turn into a plant, the plant that produced that fruit (assuming we enjoy the coffee produced) will still get cultivated and have it's offspring cultivated. :V

Anyway, Tir, there's no reason to unblock her. He can get peace from all this without needing to let her talk to him, especially if she's sociopathic like that.

We don't eat grass or leaves. But plenty of herbivores do. Just because we don't enjoy the taste doesn't mean other animals don't.

Got a call out of the blue about the property damage suit from like, over a year ago. The collection agency is saying they're going to file suit. *sigh*


Probably just more scaremongering and nothing will come of it, but goddammit....I got enough stress to deal with on a daily basis without this bullshit.

Good thing is, this firm is sketchy as hell and has been fined by the FTC and investigated by numerous state AG's for unethical practices. So if I blow them off, likely nothing will happen and if it does go to court, the judge is liable to throw that shit out.

Another college I applied to released it's admissions decisions. So far the count is 2 admittances, 3 denials, and 5 still to hear from.
Edit: Actually, two did. Both were denials. So 2/4/4.
