I just found /r/SexyAbortions.

Reddit is definitely worse than 4chan. For now.

In a perfect world, sure. But in reality, negative experiences tend to heavily color the portrayal of the whole. For every awesome thread or subreddit, there tends to be one that is...somewhat less so.

So my question stands: which of the two could be considered worse? Not objectively on-the-whole measurably worse, just which one has the worst horror stories.
I have been doing some reddit surfing in recent days, and I have seen some really bad parts (partially from reddits that helpfully link to bad reddits.). I'd have to say it's fairly even, though I lean 4chan out of respect to tradition.

I feel like 4chan does it to be disgusting, and Reddit does it to get off.  4Chan may also be getting off, and Reddit may also be reveling in being gross, but I feel like that's the primary difference in vibe I get.  Or rather, 4chan is kind of evolving into a sort of performance art, whereas the nasty parts of Reddit seem actually sincere.

So, I'm going to go with "I think reddit is grosser."

That's the impression I get--and again, I've never visited the grosser parts of Reddit or 4Chan, but when people call out Reddit folks go "FREE SPEECH FREE SPEECH" and when people call out 4Chan, the result is trolling.

So yeah, that's the basis for my assumptions.

...So at this point, which website could be considered "worse": redditt or 4chan?
Reddit is only any good when it's for a community to get together. Communities that originate and are centred around Reddit are objectively shit, since Reddit is basically a wannabe 4chan, expect it produced literally rather than almost no OC.

At least every 4chan board has merits. Apart from /s4s/. That is like an injection of distilled terribad. Yes, that means that even /pol/ has its merits.

/pol/ only has merit when the mods troll the resident fascists, like after the 2012 election.

Dancing Obama gifs and "My President" by Young Jeezy on unmutable infinite loop. What with the prevalence of racism and hatred for Obama (not unrelated factors) on /pol/, this had the stereotypical population somewhat upset.

I'm a 4chan user myself, and I've regularly browsed any of the "bad" boards. As far as I can tell, the nicer boards like /tg/ and /vr/ are actually comparable to any very large forum in the trolling-to-genuine-posts ratio. That said, /b/ is referred to as "the ocean of piss" by non-/b/ users for a very good reason.

Hilarious but unrelated, /s4s/ once tried to "raid" /3/. It didn't work because most people on /3/ work a job and live in the same general time zone, so nobody was around to notice or care before the janitors cleaned everything up.

Another day, another bout of extreme depression.

...

Extreme depression conjures up weird images of an extremely morose someone skateboarding on a half pipe or something.

I just got done changing out my old comps dead hardrive, five years of history gone in a flash. I'm incredibly fucking depressed right now, what with a bunch of other shit I don't even feel like talking about right now. I've been crying myself to sleep for the past two weeks.

Went to Sydney mardi gras this year, didn't have very much to drink but I think I was drugged. My partner ended up getting me home, but he says I was in a pretty bad state. Right now I just feel really sick...
