I feel terrible today.
Yesterday, I went to the doctor's, and told him about my problem with the pain medicines I was on.
Previously, I was on two different, prescription strength pain killers, because my back was in extreme amounts of pain. These worked, quite well, in fact. I was actually able to do my job very efficiently and without pain, for the first time in a very, very long time.
The problem with them, is that one of them made my acid reflux worse (really, it didn't make it all that bad, but it was annoying) and the other made me super apathetic towards, well, everything. (I think I mentioned that one before in the thread)
So his response was to take me off of both of the medicines, and put me on a single, over-the-counter strength pain killer.
This was clearly not sufficient.
The entire day I spent at work, I felt like I was about to collapse at any moment from all the pain, and it was a very tedious, long struggle to make it through. It wasn't helped at all by the fact that they made me work a longer shift than usual.
Another thing that made it worse, that was completely unrelated, was the fact that my throat hurt like hell.
So after work, I decided to go to the doctor's to get that checked. He literally took a single look at it and said "Yup, that's a virus." He then let my wife look at it while he shined the light in my mouth and explained that what I have is called "Viral Ferengitus." (not sure if I spelled that right) which is basically like a canker sore in your throat that hurts horribly and is contagious. So I asked if I'd be able to go back to work, and when I told him I work at a fast-food place, he said that I would likely get the food infected if I made it, so now I'm off work, again.
I gave the work excuse to the supervisor, and they said that I'd definitely have to talk to the general manager about getting this much work off on such short notices, which won't be fun. But I don't really care, there is no way in hell I'm going to willing do something that has a risk to getting someone infected. Work can suck it, as far as that is concerned.
Oh, and I found out why my back hurts, apparently, a couple of the vertebra in my lower spine is too narrow, and can't properly support the weight of my upper body. That's frelling awesome. I also have some fluid in my knees, which explains why it hurts to walk for long periods of time, and I have a vitamin D deficiency, so now I'm on some weekly medication for that, as well as orders to drink more milk and go outside more often.
I hate being outside.
