I believe there's an industry quote floating around saying that women are half of the gaming market. The quote goes on to explain this is mainly due to tablet/smart phone portable gaming which is a huge new market and has a large female following.
Most people myself included use a definition similar to Tack's, which is a different thing than the above statement which was taking the economic view.
I am openly chauvinistic
I feel like you want people to criticize you, so normally I wouldn't. Especially because this would make 2 confrontational posts on the same topic within like 3 pages. But this was too much so here goes. The definition of "male chauvinism" (actually chauvinism means something different) that the internet spat out was "the belief that women are innately inferior to men" or the flip that men are superior. This is different from saying, say "I'm a devout republican" because those statements go to every reader who is democrat and say "I disagree with you". That is an acceptable message. Your statement says to every female forumgoer "I believe myself superior to you" which, while a common internet message, is massively rude when stated directly. So you should stop saying it.
To put it in perspective, the racial version of what you just said is "I am openly white supremacist". While you may be using a different definition than the internet one remember that people will use the common definition rather than your own personal definition.
