The thing is, I don't just find it sad that people have to sexualize pretty much every female gamer in existence, but especially since this is someone who barely even swears in her videos and who I just can't picture in any sort of sexual situation. I don't doubt it, but I can also guarantee the vast majority are men.
While I can't say it doesn't happen to guys, (I found similar images of PewDiePie. *gags*) The majority of female gamers still to this day get sexualized and harrassed, despite them making up almost half of the gaming population. It really makes me sick that this happens and has been happening for decades.

As far as I can tell, the entire forum is dedicated to that sort of thing, so sharing it would be against forum rules. It's called "FakeThatBitch" or something similar. I can't tell you where I found the PewDie image, though.

Also totally adorkable in a way that makes my soul squeal just a bit. But mostly cool. Watching further into the video and she obviously knows what she's talking about. Yeah. new channel to watch. like holy shit, i can't get over the fact people go "oh man x is so sexualized" when in today's society, and in societies of the past for the matter, every single thing is going to be sexualized because that's a thing that humans do

it's going to be more noticeable today because people don't give a fuck/don't want to look like prudes/etc., and it's going to be more pronounced with humans, because feeling sexual things towards them is pretty much a given in a "healthy" member of the species, but give me an animal, an object, anything - and some person in the past, today or near future if it's a pretty new thing is going to express sexual interest towards it or at least use it to get rid of already accumulated sexual... interest? lust's a pretty good term for it but then it's too broad to use properly.

and if there's no explicit sexual material to do so with, they'll just use their imagination, or photoshop, or both. vOv

by the way - the above includes you! if someone knows how you look like, while you might not get your face photoshopped onto a bunch of pornographic images, there's a chance that you'll run through somebody's head at a time. only way to prevent that is to more or less not exist.

It's not the sexualization itself that is the problem, it is the fact that they cannot be viewed as anything except as sexual. As in, people only relate to them as sexual, and not as human. They either please the penis, or they should all go die and rot in hell. The fact that they are exclusively sexualized, harassed, piled on with even more harassment if they dare to OBJECT to being sexualized or harassed, get harassed for not being easy enough to sexualize, exclusively get comments based only on the sexualization of themselves, IT GETS PRETTY FUCKING TIRING.

What's more fun is that there are also boards out there dedicated to getting the phone numbers and personal details of women who try to work in nerd-related activities, and then spam those phone numbers with calls. Forever. And these phones calls even end up sexual in nature thanks to the people doing it.

You know what, I was writing a detailed argument about why you are wrong.  But at this point, if you don't understand why "there are obscure fetishes all over the internet" and "everything female is sexualized always" are not the same thing, you clearly have never participated honestly in a conversation about this topic.  Because someone would have explained it to you.

At this point I'm not sure how you could live in modern society and not understand.  Like... turn on a TV sometime and don't allow yourself to be immersed.  Just take a step back and look at nothing but how the women are portrayed compared to the men.  It doesn't matter if the show has any female characters, the ads will contain enough in formation.  Just pay attention, eventually it will sink in.
