Soak a banana in DDT and leave it on a windowsill. Nothing could go wrong

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

So the past month has been pretty miserable... All starting with my great aunt coming for a visit, and realising that despite her being a really awesome person who's into literature in a big way, I found myself completely unable to talk to her on account of the paralysing fear that anything I said would wind up being used against me.

Which just sort of drove home the point I've known for a long time that I'll never be able to piece myself back together unless I get the heck out of this household, a prospect which has been immensely scary for me, due to reasons of agoraphobia mostly...

Then from there it's been basically one bad event after another. And...

Well I've basically spent a lot of time feeling anxious and afraid, having anxiety attacks, staring at walls or ceilings, idiotically arguing with phantasmal versions of people, having nightmares and otherwise sleepless nights.

And I'm feeling so tired of dealing with people that override everything I say, and shut me out, and treat me like a monster, and all the manipulative BS I've had to deal with from my mother and other people.

I spent most of last weekend wondering what I had to do to myself to stop people from treating me like this all the flipping time. If I need to starve myself into a withered husk, or mutilate myself, or something just to stop people from treating me like a monster so much.

I've been trying so frigging desperately to just... cope... but I don't think I'm succeeding, I'm pretty sure my maths test is going to come back very bad, and then I'm going to be screwed in terms of grades this semester... I don't know what to do with myself. I don't know how I'm going to stop people doing this stuff to me.

Urg. And I think some fruitflies must have hatched in my apartment. I really hope some spiders move in soon and clear these out.

Man, now there's spiders everywhere! I best get some house centipedes to clean them out.

We had one of these as an apartment pet, at one point. His name was Doobin. No matter what things a spider can, he'd take care of it.

These are probably the most depressing things I've seen all day.
That's no Wonderella.

Thank you for reintroducing me to this series. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it.

Na, spiders I can deal with. They're typically pretty damn chill. Just sitting in the corner all day murderizing any insect dumb enough to enter my apartment. And if they're jumping spiders, that's even better, because those things are adorable.

Yeah I know how you feel with the flies. Try removing their breeding ground/food source. It's the only way to be rid of them.

Worse. I can usually respect bad but serious films - not everyone's a Tarantino. But this thing is filled to the brim with Lolita girls whose bras are filled to the brim with boob who heroically delve into escapism and/or battle machinery because no blood, all while being accompanied by pseudo-heroic rock music.
And it's apparently meant to be a social commentary about sexism. By displaying sexism. Without confronting the viewer with his(/her) sexism. And delivering the message that when a girl is confronted with injustice, running away is her heroic only choice.
I mean, damn.

I've been waking up to spider bites on my legs every couple of weeks. I think they've been coming in through my air conditioner at night, finding a good place to hide, and then attacking it when it turns out to be alive and many millions of times more massive than itself, rolling around in its sleep. I am that spider's Cthulhu. It's still pretty damn annoying.

I'm sorry, but I think I really have to come to this movie's defence here.
