I'm actually Chinese enough that it's normal for my eyes to look that way, and I never got that much crap for it.  It makes wonder if those people think "it's ok because you're not Chinese, so you won't be offended".  I most often see bigots reveal themselves when they think that they are not in the company of the the people that they are hostile toward.

It turns out anti-tank dogs were actually used in WW2. The idea of a dog running under a tank and then exploding makes me very sad.

IF it makes you feel better, they blew up their own side.

Reading discussion over the last few pages in here, I am sad because I'm terrible at being rude to people.
I mean, I often avoid people I dislike, etcetera, all that sort of thing-- but when I'm actually face-to-face with them I'm always polite and courteous, even when I really, really want to tell them to piss off. :(

I think I inherited the dislike of confrontation from my dad. My mother is rude as anything, to the other extreme.
I just wish I could speak my mind from time to time. ::)

It was kind of short-sighted really.
But I still find the whole mental imagery of it pretty hilarious. But it probably wasn't in reality.

Yeah, outside of reality the idea of a dog running under a tank as the crew yells "NO NO, BAD DOG" is pretty funny just like incendiary pigs. But then in reality there were no tank crews yelling bad dog, and it was not funny.

War isn't a topic that lends itself well to humor. One of the few long running military jokes has always been the mystery meat in the ration pack. Not many people laugh at the mystery meat.

That's what happens when you train them to run under Soviet tanks - they tend to run under Soviet tanks...

Incendiary pigs were in fact an effective weapon, I might add.

I say "were" because I sincerely hope nobody has employed that tactic after 1400.

Nobody suspects incendiary pigs.

Cats have been used like that by some invading armies too. Burning stuff was tied to their tails and they would try to run and hide from the fire in local barns and stuff. :(

Didn't the US use incendiary bats in WWII versus the Japanese?

They were planning on it, but I think it was cancelled and the money started going into the atom bomb project instead.
