I played Way of the Samurai on an emulator, hearing that it had an interesting story. Basically it sets up a scenario and you go in and do what you want, and your actions influence (or not, apparently) the storyline in various ways. It's also apparently very short, like an hour long, but you can go back and do it again and collect more swords and shit, like some kind of choose your own adventure game but with more action, and apparently permadeath.
uuuugh. It was so bad.
The tutorial was like 15 minutes long and 12 of those were listening to some lady tell me obvious things. The gameplay was okay but not great, Bushido Blade style combat would've made things much more interesting.
I didn't really get into the storyline, but it didn't matter because everything I saw was fucked up. Black samurai with a giant afro and breakdancing swordplay was the first red flag. Then (spoiler alert?) some dudes broke into the restaurant I was visiting and threatened people, I pulled a sword and killed two of them, but the third kicked my ass and I surrendered, joining his evil bad guy clan to survive. Black Samurai was disappointed with me, and the girl who owned the shop was afraid of me. I pulled my sword to kill her and she ran away in a cutscene that prevented me from killing her. So much for meaningful choices. Then I tried to kill her adopted dad but he was straight up invincible, so I gave up and went on to the evil bad guy clan's hideout. Along the way I met Black Samurai and tried to kill him, he was beating me pretty bad with his Offensive Offense, but I finally got him down and he ran away in another scripted cutscene. At that pointed I told the game to go fuck itself and quit.
