What sucks is that EVERY chapter in fanfiction ALWAYS ends in a cliffhanger.

Meh computers.  Had to do a system restore from a windows update fouling things up and Avast shit the bed, doesn't recognize license files anymore.  Fortunately I still have a Microsoft Security Essentials installer on my old work usb, so I just threw that on for an antivirus while I'm doing the reinstall.  If MSE had the features avast has I'm addicted to, I would switch.

How can microsoft make such a good free antivirus, but can't make sure their windows updates don't break things before pushing them to users?  A little annoyed in avast for failing so hard too, I used to recommend it, but now it slows startup to a crawl, and seems to malfunction every time I system restore.

... nah. I'd say that, by the numbers, over the course of all the fanfiction I've read less chapters have ended on cliffhangers than otherwise. I'd probably wager one out of every three or four at most, if I had to throw out a wild guess. At least among the stuff I've read. Which is fairly voluminous at this point, heh. Somewhat more frequent compared to the published stuff I've read, but not terribly much.

Ah, the eternal AV software cycle. Why does it always seem to end up like that, anyway?

That is because cliffhanger = good story telling, right? If I want my story to be compelling I just need to not tell people things, right?

The shitty twist is that the shitty twist is a cliffhanger.

The cliff hanger is what will the shitty twist be?

The shitty twist is that the shitty twist isn't actually a cliffhanger, you get to see what the cliffhanger is in the next episode.

Seems Kepler is having problems which may end its mission. :(

Damn, that's a real shame; hopefully they can find some other use for the hardware. It's kind of ridiculous that it'd probably be less expensive to launch a new one than to send some kind of repair mission.

Apparently though, it's done above and beyond what it was originally expected to do. That seems to be rather common with NASA things.
