I wonder why English's masculine default evolved into being not default...
Clunky, taste and precedents set by writers 400 years ago.

This better not be one of those days where it turns into endless hippy whining about how people have actual attachments to things.
The hippies I know are the ones that actually ARE passionate about things. Other than like, money of course.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

My state tax refund was taken for "Miscellaneous debts to the Ohio Attorney General's Office", and they won't even answer the fucking phone. I've never had any dealings with the Attorney General's office. Hell, the only dealings I've had with the legal system at all was a jury summons last year (which I reported to.)

All of yahoo news commenters are in a blind rush to forfeit all their rights so that the Boston Bombers won't get a fair trial.

Just smack him in the head with a rolled up newspaper and walk out. He'll get the picture.

Link or it didn't happen etc.

Also, the Boston terrorists were terrible terrorists. Every life lost is a terrible tragedy, but in the end they inflicted little actual damage. Hell, no even moral damage. "Terror" for maybe a couple of days, but it ended in celebration.

(I don't want to sound insensitive, please don't think I am being insensitive)

I'm not even sure if they produced terror for a few days. From what I've seen, it went straight from rage to celebration, with no time for terror to set in.

Tried to quit. They do not wish me to leave. They also do not want to pay me decently....

Something or other about how things take years to develop when "starting a business."

So, "Come on, hang in there and be poor...." Is that the gist of what you're telling me.

This isn't a negotiation it's a resignation.

"If you leave law, you won't be a lawyer."

Can I get that in writing? Does that mean I will never have to smell another drunk driver in a jail cell the morning after, or have to listen to a literal crackhead tell me how things are going to work? Does this mean I will never have to look at how the poor are placed in prison merely because they can't pay a bond? Does this mean I won't have to listen to whiny little over-entitled kids bitch while they throw away their lives on heroin, as I try to help them help themselves?  Do you promise? Pretty please? There's talk of a cherry on top.

Frankly, you're lucky I don't have another job lined up or else I'd just leave.

Dammit, Truean, you're too good for this world. A lesser person would have thrown in the towel and sold their soul to the machine long ago...

Well, my saying so probably won't help in the slightest, but you could always look at it as a way to give back- the weak & foolish need defending, and who will do it? Maybe?
I dunno, I've also read that law schools are pushing out record high numbers of graduates.
Glad I'm in healthcare, (despite the blood/shit/vomit).
